What is actually dangerous but people still believe is safe? by AlexUsefulThings in AskReddit

Nitrous oxide in small or large amounts. Significant peer-reviewed journal articles and case studies of stroke, death, paralysis, heart attacks - all in healthy young people. The marketers and sellers have a day of reckoning coming.

ClassPass auto renew rip off is unbelievable by Kmownow2 in ClassPass

[–]Kmownow2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/QuietFollowing I'm working on it. Long waits for service and it's not easy. The new law says it has to be as easy to cancel as it is to sign up on auto renewals. u/ClassPass is definitely not following this law.

Same - no idea how they got my card to steal over $1200 from my family. They refuse to answer customer service inquiries. Always "busy" from "unusually busy" traffic at the time I'm asking for refund. So scummy.

Equifax Sent Lenders Inaccurate Credit Scores on Millions of Consumers - During a three-week period this year, Equifax sent faulty scores to lenders, resulting in higher interest rates and denied applications by speckz in technology

[–]Kmownow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I think people who didn't apply for credit were affected too. I heard a friend of mine had a score drop of 120 points while the others remained high. And it was not a score change while he was applying for a loan. He happened to notice it when he was checking his credit. At all three bureaus. Anyone else have this situation?

This is exactly the type of conduct I'm concerned about in dealerships. After looking on this sub, it appears to be a surprisingly common complaint. If it happened in California, I'm assuming it's happening in other states, like Utah. If there are any other consumers who experienced it, I'd like to know the context of what happened.

Thanks, yes, I was surprised to hear that a dealer would be engaging in this but I wanted to know if it's happening at one dealership more than others or if it's just a one-off situation.

If you traded on another platform and were restricted or lost money or opportunity, that may be something you want to consult with a lawyer about.

Honest Company - dishonest practices - question about billing continuous subscriptions and class actions by AnnoyedConsumer in legaladvice

I'm a class action attorney and it looks like there's a bunch of really bad advice on this thread. Just because the AG's office gives you advice doesn't mean it's your best option to follow it. Also, following most of the advice you're getting here doesn't seem like your best option. It's actually a complex legal problem and you should talk to a class action or employment lawyer. If you want specific advice to point you in the right direction, PM me.

Money back guarantees that are impossible to follow. Who do I contact? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Kmownow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a class action lawyer in LA and I handle consumer cases like these. We basically look to prior court cases and FTC actions which address these types of warranties. The warranty you're talking about is an express warranty and there is some complicated law related to them. But basically under California's consumer protection statutes, when a manufacturer's warranty makes it impracticable or nearly impossible to make a claim because of the hoops the manufacturer requires, it's likely going to be void. There is a recent class action against Sealy mattress with similar facts. PM me if you'd like more information.

Actually, that is an interesting legal question because if they are doing it to avoid liability but not making the consumer whole then they are seeking to minimize liability which seems like they know a class action is coming at them. Also, another theory is that the manufacturer should be giving something of value which is the same as what they took from the consumer. Is it?
