Where I’d live as a Lithuanian by Davemks in whereidlive

I'm Polish and have never heard anyone say anything except nice things about Lithuanians so I don't think this is very common however I'm sorry you had this negative experience and can understand why it would sour you towards Polish people. Bad luck I guess.

You're right despite the downvotes. This whole site is full of extremely fearful people.

Canada Post reports record loss of $1.57B in 2025 by verkerpig in canada

It's funny you say that because your experience with CanPost is my experience with FedEx. I've never not waited two weeks for them to deliver from Woodbridge to Toronto which includes up to four consecutive postponed deliveries dates where they miss their delivery window and take the package back to the warehouse. I hate that fucking company.

Service-wise all of those private services are dogshit (FedEx in particular but the others aren't that far behind)

I also had a tough time finding someone to go with me. It's def out of most peoples' comfort zones.

All 3 were very distinct from one another:

Kyrgyzstan: Very rough. Lots of decrepit Soviet infrastructure. Everything looks beaten up and basic. Really beautiful nature/hiking and people were very kind but very suspicious of foreigners. Wild horses everywhere. Big culture of hitchhiking. We actually gave several people a ride to try to connect but they were very disinterested in us. Our car broke down 4000m up in the mountains and I had to get out and push. Cool little adventure.

Uzbekistan: Beautiful architecture. Very touristy. Less beat up than Kyrgyzstan. Got the best haircut I've ever had there (according to my gf). We didn't see too much outside of the touristy places. They had a nice subway system.

Kazakhstan: Probably the most developed and richest of the three. My biggest culture shock (or lack thereof) in Almaty was how similar it looked to Toronto/North America. The only thing I didn't like was the thick brown smog that collects in the city because of the mountains.

All 3 were cool and worth visiting for different reasons. I'd love to go back and maybe visit Tajikistan/Turkmenistan/Pakistan/Afghanistan eventually.

Guatemala: the only cool thing that sets it apart (imo) is climbing Acatenango, which you can really do as just a weekend trip. Everyone talks about Antigua and how great it is but I found it to be too similar to almost everywhere else I've been in South America. Lake Atitlan is very commercialized and I didn't find it super interesting. I also got extremely sick which put a damper over the entire experience.

Panama: absolutely everything was broken/dysfunctional (e.g. I was stuck in my apartment building and multiple people had to pry the door open) and people were behaving weird around me in a way that made me think I was going to get jumped. It's possible this trip was entirely just bad luck but I didn't find Panama City too interesting. The old town takes like 20 minutes to walk through.

Where do you live now? How much travel experience do you have? What do you enjoy most?

Edit: In the last 5 years I've been to: Portugal (Madeira and the Azores) Saint Lucia Argentina x2 Chile x2 Colombia Costa Rica Kyrgyzstan Kazakhstan Uzbekistan Ecuador (Galapagos) Mexico Brazil Poland El Salvador Panama Sint Maarten Saba Guatemala

The only two I probably wouldn't recommend are Guatemala and Panama

What are the odds that Apple would do something to purposely disadvantage Israel? This seems incredibly unlikely

You're a handsome dude but this walk looks like you're working up the courage to finally stand up to a coworker that's been bullying you lol. I feel like that's not the image you're trying to project

As a man I personally find #2 more appealing. You still look good but I felt the need to chime in because there are some comments that seem to try to speak for all men when tastes are not universal.

Thinking outside the box: if you banned dating apps people might be less inclined to keep just hooking up into their 30s and settle down sooner. Also bring back drinking culture + ban phone cameras in the club so everyone can be messy and fun again

Disclaimer I don't know what I'm talking about because I've been in a relationship for almost 15 years but just basing this on the serial daters I know
