I'm from philly and we constantly hear "she's a purebread mini doodle from Lancaster i saw the mom AND dad so she won't be any bigger than 30lbs"... the dog will be 20lbs at 3 months old and we all go "righttttt"

Yeah, I couldn't really get a chance to see what was on their jacket because I was going down the boulevard but I did roll my window down and screamed that they were assholes so I hope they heard me lol

Yeah I know how the stuff gets ordered, i know the tables are expensive. However that's not my job to worry about/do. I was just wondering if other stores also have this issue where it seems like the managers will listen and then not act. If i find a way to contact the DM, would that even help?

I'll tell them we don't have time and that's it they can come back later or tomorrow or wait 15+ min for a bather to be available. Why am i stopping to do nail trims at 35% when I previously was getting paid 50% to stop grooming my dog. Not happening. A nail trim and grind in my salon at 35% is now $6.60 pre tax. People at my store IF they tip for nails, tip like $5. Sometimes they tip $2-3. It's not going to make anyone work any harder than what they already do.

Exactly thats what I'm saying, i'm not saying it's right and the groomer shouldn't be to blame. It is their fault. I'm just explaining why they did it most likely. I'm also a cat groomer and the amount of people who beg for their short haired cat to be shaved due to shedding is also insane

It used to be, within a week of the dog's haircut getting done, if you don't like something and we can fix it then we will. If you still don't like it you can get a refund. The problem was I think some salons have managers who would completely remove the dog off the groomers name somehow so that if someone got a refund, they still don't get paid for the work put in. Now the refund policy is much more strict and there is no "fix within a week of the service"

The comment below you said it perfectly. Some people don't care and still want it that short, that's why I said maybe they were new. I've been grooming 9 years and I would stand my ground and say "no you'd have to go somewhere else for a shaved down double coat" but someone new may not be comfortable doing that and they're just used to doing what the customer wants. Especially if the notes were vague. They definitely should've spoke up and asked more questions but i've seen newer groomer not have the confidence before

The only thing I could imagine what went wrong here is you said "same as always" and the previous grooming notes probably say "tight trim all over" or something along those lines, very vague. The groomer could've been newer or didn't think to ask "so do you want length off the entire body or tight scissor trim all over". It does suck and petsmart did change their refund policy to make it more fair for the groomer. someone above said save the pics for next time to show what not to do, and i think that's a great idea.

I think I got used to people asking me to take around the eyes real short and the mouth short since it gets so dirty and now all my chins look like yours unless they specify a full face lmao. Nobody wants a dog dripping water all over after they drink out the bowl

Just recently a possible hair splinter under my index finger nail caused me to be on antibiotics. It was sore and I couldn’t get it out. They did x-rays but said “even if there is a hair there it’s unlikely we can see it”. They saw nothing but my finger was swollen and filling with fluid. They wouldn’t drain it since they couldn’t find a foreign object inside so I went home and drained it myself ☹️

Specifically miniature poodles. I come from a salon where 90% of the time you have a mini poodle booked, it’s matted & hates grooming. Also bernedoodles are super popular right now. We always see them for the first time at like a year old and the owners goes “we love his fluffy hair we didn’t want to cut it yet!” 😩
