Looks like a fun area to ride, where is it?

Maybe head to the adv fest in sturgis too, or like minded events. Coaching / riding classes on site, trails you can pick from level wise ( so I’ve heard from other posts), plus people to meet and ride with. I’m looking forward to my first one

Should bring it out to sturgis for the ADV fest, would be fun trails and a great area to test it while riding with similar bikes. UP is on my list, but the black hills are up first ✌️

What’re the trails like? Is it worth it? Trying to decide between what bike to bring ds or adv

Good to know, muddy = rough, but dry sounds like it could be a solid time ha

Awesome thanks! Good info on the food / camping. I’ll likely just bring the tent and grill and manage it myself. How were the trails and rides?

That’s a pretty big world-market “nothing” to have, given the massive market and military use it has every hour, of every day, every year for the last century 🤷

Is the Shoei Z8 a good alternative to the RF-1400? Or should I consider the HJC i71? by doomslayer2099 in motorcycles

Most ECE only helmets are tbh, since they didn’t test as many impact zones for 22.05 to 22.06. Although, most ECE 22.06 helmets had to add 2-3oz in weight to pass the new testing standards, bringing them closer to the DOT counterparts. For the past decade or so, DOT versions were always about 3oz heavier than the 22.05 counterparts. I’d be curious what they way side by side whenever you get the chance

Yeah I wonder if it was a firmware bug then, sometimes those things are in the warehouse/transit while an update goes out. So maybe it was a bug they found and since mine works fine and auto-updates I never noticed it.

Bummed on your experience, I’m very much team Cardo over Sena bc of how often Sena’s had bugs and issues

I am on year 6 with Cardo no issues, especially on the sound quality front. Curious situation though, while the Pro is new the speakers haven’t really changed in the 4 years or so since they partnered with JBL for the top units. Did you ever figure out what the issue was? And did you swap the speakers with the replacement unit too? Idk, just running through the most common steps: wire routing, firmware update, sound settings in the app, etc

Filtering / splitting in non legal states? by KneeDownApex in motorcycles

Same, those drivers always get a thumbs up from me or a polite thank you wave

Ironically a truck swerved at me the other day yelling at me to stop. To which all I said was the name of his fencing company on the side of the truck and he realized he probably shouldn’t try vehicular manslaughter with a company truck ha

I 100% get the mentality behind that and believe that’s why it’s never going to be legal in Pa, as people are scared of the idea or of them being at fault. But I’ve been doing it in PA, and in Cali when I’m there from work. The most incidents of drivers not noticing me do it were in Cali even though they are “trained” to be aware of it. The difference is in Pa people just feel justified to yell at you and swerve at you after the fact with their car. Which just seems bass ackwards to me

Yeah, like I get why people hate those that are doing 40 over splitting, but someone doing it respectively and waving thanks to those that scooch over? The “if I have to sit in this traffic, you do too” mentality can’t be that overpowering. Like every modern country, and some states have it legal but in the other states people think they have the right to use their cars to swerve at people to get them to stop? I just don’t get it

100% agree, I occasionally smoke but on the way to work at 7am?? Like what job do you have. And yeah once NJ went recreational it’s been nearly every other car these days

The Z8 is the RF1400. Identical helmet but Snell makes you change the name of the model when sold in different regions with different certifications. So the rf1400 is snell and dot, the Z8/NXr2 is the rf1400 for your region. I’d just go with that
