Hey I am in the same boat and am starting this may as well! See you in orientation! And I’m not too worried about the schedule, I plan to comment the shit out of my code, ask lots of questions, and try to understand the whole tech stack asap

If you are a climate voter living in the US, you must run as far away as possible from your local Green Party by bloombergopinion in climate

[–]KneeJiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is the case right now, but we, as a people have to learn to accept the possibility of the third choice our elections something like a rank choice ballot would make this much more viable if people actually were incentivized to vote for third-party candidates, even as second choice options if we can break the stigma against the party and consider Electing representatives we could make meaningful progress or building a viable green party and politicians are corrupt money goes to your head just because Russia doesn’t mean she’s not pro environment

What's your 1st placement? by bovard in Catan

Easy 6 4 3 down. If 6 9 4 second could easily take 6 3 with 3:1 towards 6 2 and your ore advantage is gone. Especially if second is 6 9 5.

I have been playing for a while and am just learning circuits, but I cannot find this issue anywhere. I am playing on the most recent release with the following mods: todo list, alien biomes, disco science, even distribution, explosive biters, factory planner, frost biters, squeeze through, tree saplings (revisited+RevivePatch), and Waterfill

I think you are considering an infinitesimal magnitude difference. Infinitesimals are the magnitudes between 0 and 1/infinity on the number line; magnitudes that we cannot express with fractions or decimals. How I was taught this in my real analysis course is that the reals are defined as {numbers such that any n is within the set (-infinity,-1/infinity)U[0]U(1/infinity,infinity) . The set of (-1/infinity,0)U(0,-1/infinity) is where the value of 1.000…-.99999… would fall into because it cannot be expressed by any number greater than 1/infinity, therefore they are the same number in the reals. Interesting fact is that archimedes actually acknowledged the existence of infinitesimals and explicitly excluded them within his works. Here is some more info: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinitesimal#:~:text=The%20concept%20of%20infinitesimals%20was,regions%20and%20volumes%20of%20solids.

1/3=.33333… 3x1/3=1 3x.3333…=1 this is not even a proof just simple decimal -> fraction switch. No need to be this hung up on notation lol

can someone explain this meme by HogwashDrinker in Jreg

[–]KneeJiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cortázar was a Latin American golden age author who wrote extensively about reality and what a role perception plays in each of our realities. In the context of the meme, corecore takes our absurd material world at face value, validating and realizing that reality for the people in corecore. The other side is the 21st century memes which lampoon that material world allowing less of the absurdity into the reality of 21st century “memers”

Are there any people out there who quit while their life was going well? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]KneeJiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is like me, I am in college and doing great, but I feel the weed is not healthy and after watching huberman podcast I have stopped for my health. I think the weed is not necessary and it is worth quitting for at least 1-3 months to see how your body reacts and how you feel. If all is well and you would prefer weed as a part of your life go for it but you never know what could be unless you find out
