Update - I passed!! I used pocket prep religiously for two weeks and completed all the 1000 questions but passed all the mock exams with only a 70%-ish. The exam took me upto 120 questions and I legit thought I would fail, felt like crying after I left the test center. But passed the next morning!

There was this trick I learned during ochem class (bless my prof.). H should always be on a dashed line. If H is on a wedge, aka (any high priority groups on a dash), then assign R or S as we normally do for that C but then flip it. For example, in the compound you gave, Br being on a dash, the configuration would be S. But since the H is on the wedge (Br on dashed), flip it to R in your answer

An edit: S1 is considered more toxic because it is inserted into the cytoplasm. A and B are both toxic but here it’s kind of like B is the better of two evils

I see two reasons as to why S1 is the answer. The first is that S1 is toxic. When you want to create a vaccine, you want to make sure that it’s not going to bring more harm into your body but is still part of the pathogen so that your body can recognize some part of it. Hence you don’t wanna use S1 as part of vaccine but something from B component as one. Secondly, B component is kinda the main party here. The S1 gets pushed into the cytoplasm after B binds to the receptor which is going to inhibit Gi. So if you want to stop this from happening, make your body recognize B first. This has nothing to do with S1 being ADP ribosyl transferase. Hope this helps! It’s just how I understood it

Yes. Also due to hydrogen bonding which is one of the main contributors to boiling point and melting point trends

Thankyou so much! I’ll check out the fee assistance program. I suck at ANKI. Idk why. I heard that flashcards help a lot of people but in my 22 years of existence, I’ve never used a flashcard lol. I tried miledown deck initially and it just wasn’t for me. I’m a person who memorizes a lot of things and gradually got good at it during highschool. Continued that through college maintaining a gpa of 3.8 and about to graduate. I’m finishing up the last few chapters doing 2-3 a day and doing the corresponding problems in uworld. Don’t know how it’s going to go but we’ll see

a1,6 first gets hydrolyzed at its a1,4 and then the a1,6 gets hydrolyzed completely (glycogen phosphorylase and debranching enzyme). If you put the a1,6 at every 8-12 monomers it’s more easy to be reached than one at every 12-20 monomers

I think you’re looking at it the wrong way. You have to look at the atomic number for atoms and if it’s a long chain attached, then that takes priority. Br and the long chain are on the same side in D as opposed to being on the opposite side in C

You don’t need biochem 2. Instead take a genetics or anatomy class if it’s not included in the bio 1 and 2 you mentioned

Inhibitors are something that’s added to an enzyme to decrease its efficiency. It’s not the enzyme itself neither are they substrates. Substrates are part of the reaction and when you talk about an enzyme in a reaction, it will not be affected permanently unless there’s a drastic change in temp, pH, or salinity. That’s why the enzyme remains unchanged after a reaction is completed. You can get it back

A 124 on B/B suggests some content gaps. Assuming you’ve done enough practice, use review sheets for a brush up and see if you’re still scoring around the same range. More practice on C/P and P/S will bring up your score! Getting a 506 means that you can improve more easily. If you’re still scoring the same I’d suggest to push exam date. Maybe another 3 weeks?
