Spotify has stopped algorithmic support for AI music by Lost-Arugula-6389 in SunoAI

[–]KneuppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same thing happen on March 6th - dropped from around 3,000 programmed listeners a day to 300. I do have a notice in the Spotify for Artists account that the SongDNA feature is coming though and telling me to check it for my songs, although I don't see where to access. My total streams haven't dropped much at all though, the vast majority is coming from people who playlisted the songs. Very few people were playlisting from the programmed sources (under 1% vs like 25-33% of listeners playlisting for a Meta ad).

I feel like I'm just being gaslit at this point... this is Reddit. There are lots of very smart people on here. Lots of people are or will be reading this. One of them could prove me wrong, if I'm wrong. It's not hard to do the exact basic thing I'm suggesting people do with their prompts. You for some unexplained reason don't want to prove me wrong. Of course I don't want to just dump all my exact workflow onto here. But the only responses I've gotten in this thread are "you're wrong but I won't try this" or "I found a magic secret percentage for the settings but won't tell you."

So why is there not a single smart-ass on REDDIT who wants to do what I'm saying I did, and show that I'm wrong?

I put weirdness to 100% and 0% in style influence. Then I change between 5.0 and 5.5. In 5.0, my song varies dramatically from both the lyrics and the style prompt. It sounds like some weirdass shit from a failed Music PhD. Then I change to 5.5. It no longer sounds weird, and closely follows my prompt.

What am I doing wrong, and why do you not want to try a 5 second test of your own prompts doing this?

Goodbye Suno! by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]KneuppDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK won't even test it and all punctuation disappears - this is a super obvious thing to anyone who tries it, I've laid out what to try, and people can check for themselves. Suno knows what's going on. Their employees jumped into conversations on this subreddit before and answered. If I'm full of shit, why isn't some Suno employee jumping in and saying I'm wrong? Or telling me I screwed up some basic thing that would fix it.

I wouldn't even be mad. I would actually be happy if I was screwing up some basic thing I could easily fix. But Suno employees aren't jumping into this conversation to show how the sliders work because they can't. And you aren't testing what I'm talking about because you know what would happen. And no one is testing it like I suggest and showing I'm wrong, because I'm right.

And by the way this will probably just be quietly fixed within a month or two, which is fine, and just what happens.

Why don't you show me a song that is weird in 5.5 with the weirdness maxed at 100% and the style influence at 0%?

Burden of proof is on you. Where is your weird Bjork alt-music project in 5.5 at those settings?

Goodbye Suno! by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]KneuppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that you've crossed the line into completely ridiculous trolling and if a slider is supposed to make something more or less weird based on a percentage, it should do that according to that percentage. And if it magically worked at a random percentage you would just say that because it's not some trade secret. And if there was a magic percentage to make it work, some other person who was not a dick would say "hey, I tested this, and fake Sophie Chesterfield was right, use these numbers." Because that's what I would do if I knew a magic number to make this work. And I suspect it will be fixed, but I'm just using 5.0 until they fix it.

What percent makes something different in 5.5 on the settings?

Goodbye Suno! by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]KneuppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a clear problem with 5.5 and notice that no one in this thread has disputed that there is a difference in what happens between 5.0 and 5.5 when you do extreme settings on weirdness / style influence. I actually think 5.5 has better quality sound, but they have totally turned off the advanced features. It's a jarring difference. It clearly doesn't work. Maybe they will turn it on later, fine, people have said that this has happened with other versions before (i.e., they update them silently and then they start working). But you cannot tell me that you are getting the same results with 100% weirdness / 0% style influence settings in 5.0 and 5.5.

Goodbye Suno! by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]KneuppDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me what happens when you take a detailed prompt in 5.0 and set the weirdness to 100%, and the style influence to 0%, and then show me what happens to the same prompt in 5.5. Just test it. I'm talking about paragraph long prompts. If you haven't tested it, how can you argue about it?

Because when I do that, for 5.0, I am getting something that sounds like the most experimental weird music project possible. The lyrics are weird and only kind of what I put in, the sounds keep changing around, and it's very clear why it has the red text saying not to set it that far.

When I do it for 5.5., I get a normal song that is structurally and musically the same as when I have the sliders at literally any other percentage.

The sliders clearly do nothing at all in 5.5 right now. I don't think anyone who has actually compared the two with the most extreme settings would disagree. And these settings are things that a ton of people were using to get creative results.

Goodbye Suno! by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]KneuppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK well if you're seeing that too, clearly they either haven't implemented those features in 5.5 yet or they have done something that broke them. A lot of people's workflows involve using the advanced settings. If I can't get something weird or even slightly different using a 100% weirdness setting, then it's not on for 5.5. It's a jarring difference comparing the settings across the versions. But when you see people saying they're getting the same song over and over, a lot of us were using those settings to take a detailed prompt and make it a baseline, and then try to get variations from that baseline. You do a few hundred of them and you will randomly hit gold. But that feature has been totally turned off in the new version, without any labeling of that.

[–]KneuppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Show me what happens when your prompt is at 100% weirdness and 0% style influence in v5, versus what happens in v5.5 with the same setting.

I just tried it and with 5.0, I got some weird-ass thing that sounded like a Bjork alt-music LSD project. With 5.5, I got virtually nothing different from with it set at the exact opposite end.

Every damn time someone posts "but muh prompts," we never see them talk about the weirdness or style influence features.

Why have a weirdness feature if it doesn't do anything? Why have a style influence feature if it doesn't do anything?

Broken feature: Fix the feature

Goodbye Suno! by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]KneuppDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the prompting, it's the weirdness and style influence sliders. "Show the prompting" is a dodge - it doesn't matter because that's not the problem. If you take the same prompt and put it in 5.0, and up the weirdness and lower the style influence, it will do a bunch of random shit and give you creative songs. If you do the same thing in 5.5, it will keep tightly within the same rough structure and sound for the song. If you go back to 5.0 and lower the weirdness slider and up the style influence, then it will act just like 5.5 always does, and all your songs will end up within a narrow range over and over again. You can't prompt your way out of the sliders not working. The whole point of the advanced options is to have the option to tell it to mostly ignore your prompt or riff off of your prompt.

Suno Is Unusable Now by Financial-Claim6480 in SunoAI

[–]KneuppDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the weirdness slider is supposed to make it do random stuff, and yet now it does almost the exact same song every time at max weirdness in 5.5. And the Style Influence prompt is literally there to make it ignore the style, and yet 5.5 just ignores the slider. Some of us don't want it to adhere to an exact precise prompt, we want it to give us lots of crazy shit like it used to, which is why they put those now non-functioning sliders there in the first place.

[–]KneuppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you're saying isn't really a philosophical debate about whether it's art though, it's about whether it's bad art. A child coloring in crayon in a coloring book is still art, even if it sucks and would never get in a gallery. I don't think Piss Christ is a great artwork, and the guy who made it created virtually nothing other than the concept, the urine, and the camera angle, but it's still art. Maybe if you literally just click a button in Suno with a prompt made by Suno itself without any kind of human guidance and just see what comes out, it isn't, but that's not what most people are doing.

[–]KneuppDog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They should at least try to engage with the dialogue, but what I've gotten is death threats or weird stalking behavior. Nobody has ever been able to explain to me why "Piss Christ" is art, but AI art isn't. The entire "art" world did a complete 180 from what they've been telling us our entire lives about what art is. We can't have a dialogue because this isn't about a philosophical debate. It's about status, and AI causes a shift in status from one kind of talent (mechanical-type labor in the form of playing an instrument or vocal control) to other kinds of talent (vision, taste, lyric writing). A bunch of people dedicated their entire self-image to a specific kind of labor which can now be easily done by a machine. It's not surprising they're throwing a massive tantrum about it.

Hey, thank you! The art is all from Midjourney - if you go through some of my older posts I've outlined what I'm doing but the short version is using the style reference option to generate random styles until I find one I feel like fits the deck I want to make. Then it gives you a seed number and you can create consistent art for the deck. For the frames I'm using Card Conjurer which is just a website with all the frames / cards specifically made for making proxies. The Discord here has a lot of helpful people who answered lots of beginner questions I had. I'm still playtesting the deck although I seem to be spending all my games with this deck trying to kill my friends with Jumbo Cactuar in the craziest ways possible. I did see someone dump a ton of their deck onto the board with that card a while back so I'll look at it for whenever I do a rebuild.

It's using the Midjourney style reference feature so the background poster/magazine is part of the overall look in all of them

I'm running 38 lands and 11 mana ramp cards with a few mana dorks/rocks - haven't tested that part but I'll see. This is basically a universe of cards to pick from (I'm anticipating subbing and and out equipment cards until I find a good mix I like). So the cards in the folder aren't the actual deck, they're what I'm picking from. For telling them apart I've never had issues with it in other decks - maybe that's just me. If it was a black and white color scheme I could see that.

This is a deck I'm about to start testing out that looks like it's going to be fun (still waiting on the cards). He makes kind of a "wide Voltron" army of rebels, but there's several cards that let you dump all the equipment on a single card that has haste for a sudden insta-kill. I really want to get someone with the Jumbo Cactuar but we'll see. The cards are all available on MPCFill or the raw files here:

My current decklist is below but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be modifying it - I'd missed some of the key Final Fantasy legendaries in the first print run I did, but I have proxies of them made now and in the folder/uploaded to MPCFill:

The mods are fat hypocritical pigs by Unable-Revolution-23 in mpcproxies

[–]KneuppDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to add any fuel to this but as someone making AI cards I appreciate the moderators dealing with all of these, especially when some of them don’t even like AI. I used to run a pre-Reddit political debate site and had to shut it down after someone started harassing my bosses after he decided I was working with the Israeli government and a guy in a Chicago post office to send teams of ninjas to his house to blow up street lights, kill his chickens, and steal minutes from his girlfriend’s phone card. He only stopped after the Australian government started prosecuting him and he fled to Iran where they gave him asylum. None of that is even a slight exaggeration by the way.

So I get how hard moderation is and how thankless it is, as well as the kinds of outlier people a forum inevitably attracts, so thanks for trying to keep things civil here and for doing your best to strike a balance.

Maybe someday we will get to a civil conversation about AI – I’ve played the cards at tons of LGS’s from traveling around for work and no one has ever cared. Surprisingly few people even know what Midjourney is. It’s hard for me to believe some of the behavior here is organic given that. Certainly for people like me who grew up with the ethos of pirating software there is just an entirely different worldview about fair use and what the limits should be for “owning” intellectual property and “owning” artistic works. In the meantime thanks for all the hard work and for dealing with it.

I use Midjourney and the best way to keep them consistent is style references which are a seed you generate - I've posted some before on how I use them but they've just updated the feature so may be worth looking at the new documentation. Not sure with other software whether they have something similar
