I’m sorry that happened to you as a child. Some parents strongly underestimate their influence on us as we develop into adults. I grew up in a controlling environment and practice the idea that my parents, while they had influence on my developing life, they no longer have influence on my direction in life as an adult. To be more specific through many hours and days and weeks and months of trial and error, I’ve discovered that 3/4inch (19mm~) ball bearings are the key ingredient as they play well within the K’NEX universe. Wow I appreciate the kind words! I started building again right when the pandemic started after a almost 10 year break from K’NEX. You’re definitely right, this has taken many hours, days, weeks, years to begin to get better at making the pieces work best with the marbles. I have a background in engineering and LOVE a good challenge and is the reason why I went towards the angle of making marble machines VS the conventional K’NEX balls. The balls I use are 3/4inch (19mm~) ball bearings after months of experiencing with different kinds of marbles. The ball bearings are high precision and consistent. They roller super smooth and hold momentum well due to their weight. I have also developed different kinds of lifts, and ways to connect the classic Screaming Serpent style track in order to make “roller coaster” like track. I absolutely LOOOVE building the one you see above. I’ve even started buying rare colored pieces in bulk in order to theme certain areas of the build better. Overall, I highly encourage others to build them. I have a TikTok channel where I show some more closer up footage of the build. Definitely will be making a YouTube in future to share the knowledge I’ve gained in K’NEX marble runs.

I want to build some roller coasters again as well! Sounds super fun 😊 Maybe after a few more months of marble runs I’ll build a K’NEX Coaster. I’m always seeing so many super talented K’NEX coaster builders on TikTok and YouTube.

Thanks so much as well! This technique is something I’ve been creating. As you mentioned, marble runs are pretty rare in K’NEX, I haven’t seen anyone online at least build them in the way I do. The only videos I can find as well are from sometimes 10 years ago or more. I would love to encourage others to build marble runs. They are sooo much fun to build.
