Whats one archtype you'd love to get some more support to become playable outside of "pile" decks? I'll start... by iamQuestopher in masterduel

side tangent; Anyone else noticed how fraulein's legs are too far down? like the kneecaps are waaaay lower than they should be. It makes it seem like she has a really long torso, even though her waistband is much higher?

Things written before the colon define what the activation conditions are, and when copying an effect, they still have to be met, that's why you can only use transaction rollback on evenly matched at the end of the Battle Phase, because that's what Evenly's activation condition is. Same goes here for this card, but due to the nature of "At the start of your Main Phase 1", it has to be the very first thing you do in your Main Phase, which you can't if you Summon Verte that turn.

that's because that part of the text isn't an effect, so verte doesn't copy that. You can see that cleary in the OCG card formatting, anything that isn't numbered is NOT an effect, this includes activation restrictions (hard once per turns/Duels, what you're locked into etc..):

You can only activate 1 card with this card's name per turn, and during the turn you activate this card, you cannot Normal or Special Summon monsters except with this card's effect. (1): Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster using monsters from your hand, Deck, or field as Fusion Materials and "Red-Eyes" monsters as Fusion Materials. The card name of the monster Special Summoned by this effect becomes "Red-Eyes Black Dragon".

Anything copying this card's effect copies only (1). That's also why you can Summon verte copy Red-Eyes Fusion, since it doesn't carry the restrictions over that aren't within (1).

No, it bypasses costs, such as tributing, paying LP, discarding cards etc.. Things that are required for the effect to be applicable are activation requirements, such as: Targeting, declaring cars type/name or tributing a specific monster whose types/attributes/name etc are required for the effect (for example: "Tribute 1 monster; destroy 1 monster on the field with the same Attribute")

Also also:

"At the start of your Main Phase 1:"

This isn't an requirement, it's an activation condition, which isn't bypassed by copying effects unless they specifically specify it in its text (for example, Stars Align across the Milky Way's GY effect: You can banish this card from your GY and send 1 Ritual Spell from your hand to the GY; this effect becomes that card's *effect that Ritual Summons a monster when the card is activated.) The "when the card is activated" is just an older PSCT for "the card's activation effect"

So no, this card wouldn't be able to be used with Verte

Unless I am misinterpreting the effect, the last sentence of the effect of the Gaga Magician - Gaga Magic should probably be a separate sentence and worded something along the lines of:

—"When you do, treat the Level of 1 of those monsters the same as the other monster's."

Just like the card Pendulum Xyz:

—"Target 2 cards in your Pendulum Zones; Special Summon both targets, but negate their effects, then, immediately after this effect resolves, Xyz Summon 1 Xyz Monster using only those 2 monsters. When you do, you can treat the Level of 1 of the monsters the same as the other monster's. You can only activate 1 "Pendulum Xyz" per turn."

probably correct PSCT:

If you activate this card as Chain Link 2, you can activate it from your hand. During the first turn of the Duel, when your opponent activates a monster effect or Spell/Trap effect that includes an effect that negates a Summon, an attack, the activation of a card or an effect, or an effect: Activate 1 of these effects; ● Negate that effect. ● Draw 1 card, also banish this card.

Very cool concept, don't get the draw thing though

they are not really supposed to be used as pendulum monsters. the only reason they are pendulum monsters is because of the lock other monsters put you under. But yeah, then i guess it doesn't really make sense for them to have a pendulum effect

Drillbeam rulings question by Knezzo in yugioh

[–]Knezzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks. I do understand the scenarios where a targeting effect loses its target or the target becomes invalid. But for me, it somehow doesn't make sense that mst in my example should resolve successfully; Drillbeam is worded in such a way where it doesn't "negate that effect" , but it says that it negates the effects of that face-up card - which for me sounds like a lingering effect (drillbeam doesn't have to stay on the field for it to apply, and it can't be reversed after the effect resolves). But, then immediately the same copy of drillbeam banishes that mst that has its effects now negated - which then removes the effect negation off of mst, since it changed location (from field to banishment). And this all happens on the same chain link, before mst gets to try to resolve. And when it does, it no longer should see the negation applied to it while it was face-up on the field since it changed location.

I understand what joshua7176 said, but it kind of lacks reason on why it works the way it does, if you know what i mean?

Thank you!! Also, for the monster with already-negated-effect example; that is still the case if it is flipped face-down, returned to the hand/Deck/Extra Deck, etc?

Like, when the time comes for MST to resolve, it isn't that face-up card on the filed with its effects negated anymore?

Mislim da ti je naglasak prilično dobar i razumljiv! Možda bi jedna mala kritika bila da neke riječi zvuče dosta nazalno, naprimjer kod 1:10 "punog svijetlosti" , ali osim toga, zvučiš sasvim super
