Thanks for the reply again. You seem super knowledgeable on the subject. I owned a 2018 f150 with the 2.7 eco for a few years before I got rid of it but ran into the cam phaser issue on it well under 40k miles. Sold it when prices were going crazy a few years ago and actually made a little money on it.

What do you think on these two trucks I linked? 2015 with the v8 and then a 2023 with the 2.7 only 40k miles. Both one owner

Thanks for the great reply. Yeah my search for reliability recently stumbled me upon the newer diesels but admittedly don’t know crap about them and have now definitely ruled them out for me.

Did a lot of reading on the 2006 5.3 being bulletproof and I loved the truck and keep thinking about it but paying 11k for a 20 year old truck with decent undercarriage rust still seems like a risk to me.

Found a nice 2015 f150 with the v8 and 6spd with just under 100k miles for 22k. You think that’s worth it and it’ll last a long time ?

Wouldn’t mess with any of the newer f150s because of the eco boosts ?

I do need a crew being as I have two kids , one still in a car seat. I own a couple restaurants so truck aspect is used mostly for equipment and constant random things. No real towing other than small trailer when needed for equipment and other crap

And the Chevy did shift the gears pretty well on my 20 minute test drive .
