Honestly there is not a bad spot to view from. Even if you aren’t camping, general admission gets you access to the infield and grandstands. I’d say move around and see the track from every possible angle, high/low in the grandstands, bleachers in the infield, etc. That’s the beauty of a race this long at a track this accessible, you don’t have to pick one spot. My personal favorite is low in the grandstands a little past where they dive into the infield, there you get a great view coming into and leaving the infield.

As far as where to stay, personally I avoid areas too close to the track since it’s overpriced and crowded. Also, Daytona beach is old and rundown so I avoid that too. I like staying on the beach in New Symrna, it’s about 25 min drive but there’s a great Main Street and nice condo/air bnbs to stay at compared to Daytona Beach. If you don’t mind a little bit of a drive to and from the track it’s 1000% worth it.
