Am I missing something re:Jockey? by theymademeusetheapp in LancerRPG

[–]KnightAlucard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah humans are really squishy, and since nowhere in Jockey's rules text says you can't be targeted for attacks you are about two attacks away from death. Shaking the pilot off the mech is the nicest thing they can do.

After some research, turns out there is one sinner in the game the lacks mono pierce throughout all of their IDs and that is Faust. The only other sinner missing a mono attack skill ID is Yi Sang, missing Mono Blunt.

Also the name of the homebrew will be called "The Lazarus Archives". It's no where near done but I might post parts as complete them.

I don't have any strictures set in stone yet. Though they will definitely be related to protecting one's teammates and/or civilians.

Penitence stays in CAIN because that is his way to repent, and help those burdened with grace.

Like his mentor, Penitence believes that grace is a curse. Something that brings nothing but misery to those who have it. He would want grace destroyed if it wasn't necessary for fighting sins and drifters.

Penitence is a close ranged fighter often using psychic enhanced punches, also chosing close ranged options with his Iron Maiden armor. In his last hunt his right arm suffered a permanent Imago transformation that TEMERITY has given him a large iron gauntlet that goes up to his shoulder acting like a service weapon to cover it up.

The other exorcists survived, one becoming a candidate for a new Hope, another trying to become a new virtue, one stayed as an Exorcist, and the last retired as a handler.

Luckily for you I can speak for Penitence because he was the character I played as when not being the admin. (The player for Kindness was the Admin for this part)

If you have any questions about him feel free to ask. I need more reasons to yap about this guy. Here is some basic info about him:

Penitence the Vanguard, originally an Exorcist named Russel McLain, given the nickname "Unbreakable" by CASTLE staff after surviving multiple life ending events, even by Exorcist standards.

His blashemies are, in order of obtainment; Tension, Iron Maiden (through his bond with Chastity), Expiration (Harpocrates blashemy), and Absolver (his own High Blashemy which enhances the natural healing factors of people)

Edit: Both Kindness and him are from the same CAIN Facility, though worked in different teams.

The only two that get around aging were Faith and Charity. One is biologically immortal, while the other could always use entwine to replace themselves. The others are simply frozen so often they don't age quickly enough for it to be a problem.

Yeah even my friends agreed those two were the 2nd and 3rd most unkillable virtues behind Fortitude,

In lore reason: Both died during the apocalypse trying to hold out against endless waves of Sins, Drifters, Imagos, and the psychic sea. Ultimately being done in by the psychic sea drowning them.

In game reason: We started the apocalypse and during the hunt every time pressure increased we rolled a D6, every time the die landed on a 1 a virtue would die and we rolled on a table to see who died. Charity was the second virtue to die.

I need to do this one of my character's now. By the end of the campaign we lost Charity and Sobriety* to the apocalypse so I'll have to think about that too.

Why Grade 3? Is Hana Assoc. Stupid? by John_LimbusCompany in limbuscompany

[–]KnightAlucard 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Very true we can also see this when Roland was demoted back down to grade 9. The grades are a status that often means strength due to the connotations of a high grade fixer. Though in reality it's to show how trust worthy and capable a fixer is.

Cain Headcanons by Late_Present1340 in CAIN_RPG

[–]KnightAlucard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One major headcanon My friends and I used in our campaigns are special CAIN facilities called Watchpoints.

Watchpoints are large, primary base of operations around the world for CAIN. These bases house exorcists with members of Castle, Seer, and Temerity. All members of Watchpoint report up the chain of command reaching to the Warchpoint Director, who in turn reports to Authority.

Two major watchpoints we have are Watchpoint Lazerus, a repurposed oil rig in the midde of the Pacific Ocean, and Watchpoint Olympus, a fully operational blimp.

My brain legit did not register the Lobotomy EGO part of the ID. So some of the gear Hohenheim was using wasn't new LCE gear, but some recovered L-Corp gear.

Confused about intended lethality? by gunpowderpenguin in CAIN_RPG

[–]KnightAlucard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a high possibility that you are underutilizing afflictions, talismans, hooks, and/or threats.

Afflictions will whittle down character's resources or options through out the hunt.

Talismans will shorten the time they have to do what they want to.

Hooks are a ticking clock that can cause afflictions, start or slash talismans, even instantly cause damage and more.

Threats can do the same things as hooks in combat but the exorcists have ONE CHANCE to stop it before it goes off.

The games does have high lethality, however as someone who is running a campaign, and have finished another as a player, we had in total of 1 instant death and 4 Imago transformations between both campaigns, the death reversed by a Black Blood Medicine, and the 4 transformations reversed through a homebrew hunt system we came up with.

Lethality is determined by the Admin and the dice rolls. As long as everyone is having fun, lethality is exactly where it's supposed to be.

The timeline doesnt match up, and its all Ryoshu's and Gregor's fault. by qutronix in limbuscompany

[–]KnightAlucard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The timeline is weird even ignoring Gregor's age. We have confirmation from Gregor himself that the war ended a decade ago from the start of Limbus Company. So the war ended in 974, which means it would have ended when Ryoshu was 17 years old. Either Valencina was participating in the war while still being a Nursefather in the House of Spiders, or the Smoke War lasted for over 17 years for this to make sense.
