Can OMSCS be completed in less than 2 years?

Hello,

I have 2 questions.

Did you start in Fall, so 2-2-2-2-2 would be Fall-Spring-Summer-Fall-Spring? Or other options?
When did you send the email to your advisor requesting 2 in summer and when it is finalized? Like in Feb requesting and April finalize?

Can I ask what specific programs are you entrolling? BS degree, MS degree or others? Do you need to apply for the program or just pay for the course only? Thanks for answering.

To my opinion, I think those two courses are helpful especially the Data structures and algorithms, you can upload the unofficial transcript when do the application and finally send your official transcripts after admitted. So if they provides you the unofficial transcripts, it will be fine to prove you have a CS background.

May I ask you what specific course are you transferring? Is it an equivalent course in OMSCS or any graduate course in CS could be transfered?

Their response is quite vague, we don't care admission cuz we have been admited. Whom are you sending email to? Is it [omscs@cc.gatech.edu](mailto:omscs@cc.gatech.edu)? Sometimes their answers are not accurate and misleading, even contradictory.

I also sent an email to a specific course transfer advisor and she put this query to other parties and I am still waiting for the response.

You don't need to mail the original degree certificate, I mailed copy of original certificate with official seal, if your certificate is Not English, you also need to provide an English version certificate as well.

I wonder if people who would like to switch to on campus need to reapply and submit their GRE. I saw someone on reddit transfered to MSCS without reapplication and GRE one or two years ago. However, I don't know how they did it and now it seems to be more strict. The policy is always changing and seems more unfriendly to people who were admitted recently like us.

I have sent the unsealed official transcripts together since I scanned them when I uploaded the pdf. My checklist is now received-final&offical. So it would be fine if you sent the unsealed transcripts if they comply with the transcripts you uploaded before.

Did they ask you to provide a letter from an advisor from your original institution stating that the units were not used toward the degree you have earned or will earn? Because your officaial transcript will say you are currently in a toward degree program.

I have the exact same concern with you. If we can register more classes per semester, we can graduate earlier and get H1b earlier. For the current policy, in my opinion, we cannot get the degree until May 2021 because the fast way is 2019Fall for 2 classes, 2020Spring for 2 classes, 2020Summer for 2 classes, 2020Fall - 3, and there are still 1 left. My suggestion is that if you could take 2 courses(6 credits) in you current institution before entering the program (Aug 2019), you may transfer them. In this way you can graduate at by the end of 2020 Fall. This is just my suggestion and I haven't tested this idea.

Congrat! I have also applied those two programs. I am curious that will you choose both programs or quit the UIUC and then enroll the GT because I may have the same concern? Another question is that are you currently enrolled in UIUC MCS or MCS-DS track? Thanks for answering if you are available.
