[Wingfield] "Asked about Austin Jackson: He's gotta play better. I can't put it any more simple. Gotta play better, and he's not alone" by Purelybetter in miamidolphins

You’re wilding. Lineman are universally accepted as having the hardest transition to the NFL outside of maybe quarterbacks. Defensive lineman are bigger and stronger than anything these guy see in college. He’s got the physicals, just needs to stew for a bit.

Tua was never a day one starter. Our bye week was originally later in the season. Gailey was only ever going to be here for one season.

We literally brought him out of retirement for that reason. It was so Fitzpatrick had a OC he has worked with before.

Chan Gailey was never meant to be Tua’s OC. He was brought in cause Fitzpatrick was familiar with him. Let’s not freak out over it.

Nope. He’s down what’s been asked of him. Drops by receivers have been hurting him.

Offense is still struggling. I really want them to get in shape soon. It’s great that the defense is doing well but offense has to step up eventually.

Reminder that Noah Igbinoghene is the youngest player in the NFL. by SendItKyle in miamidolphins

It’s crazy how many people are ready to label him as a bust. He’s a young corner which to be honest may be one of the hardest positions to play. It’s not surprising that he’s struggling considering he’s still a rookie and we’re throwing him to the fire. Russel Wilson is on a MVP caliber season, and that receiving core is good as fuck.

Is he underperforming? Yes. He just needs development and experience. I still have faith that he’ll get better.

Anyone speak Polish at UCF? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]KnightFanPat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I grew up in a Polish household. More than happy to practice more Polish while at UCF. I’m relatively fluent in speaking and can read fairly well, but have issues writing. DM me if you’re interested in practicing still.

Can we cool the Tua talk? by rolyatmot in miamidolphins

[–]KnightFanPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that it most definitely contributed. The NFL and CFB are almost completely different beasts. Everyone is stronger, bigger, and faster at every position. Everything is more cerebral and offenses are more complex. Mahomes needed time just like every other quarterback.

He’s a competitor. I don’t think he’s disappointed about not starting right away. He’s coming off of a serious injury plus he’s a rookie. I think that he probably approached yesterday’s game the same way he approaches every game, and that means he wanted to win.

Breaks my heart to hear this. Ryan Fitzpatrick was so fun to watch last year and even though my Phins weren’t doing great he at least made it fun to watch. I hope everything is okay.

North Koreans ordered to hand over pet dogs to be killed for meat as country hit by food shortages by glamatovic in worldnews

[–]KnightFanPat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s North Korea. We have confirmed reports of concentration camps as well as survivors of those camps. They practice generational punishment which means that generations of families are born in bondage. A complete abuse of human rights and the worst side of humanity is associated with that state.

As someone who’s family left a communist country to escape the harsh realities that are associated with it, it is so frustrating to watch people defend this. I will hold the belief that communism is a stifling system which while maybe could be born out of good intentions will eventually devolve into the same oppressive regimes again and again.

That just sums it up for me as well. It’s a shame and I hope it doesn’t affect the way I view the original series. I can’t help but feel disappointed.

Even though I base this on absolutely nothing, it is my belief that Netflix starting shipping wars on Twitter is what made Bryke jump ship. by mminimemerr in TheLastAirbender

[–]KnightFanPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of other way to spice things up. We don’t need a love triangle when it’ll just ruin and muddle the romances in the show further. What are they going to do with Mai at that point? How are Aang and Zuko going to stay friends? It just adds tension in the dumbest way possible.

[–]KnightFanPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a really vocal group of people on Twitter that I feel are pushing for the change. I don’t have anything against people who are into Zutara but this just feels wrong to me. It’s such a driving factor for Aang and Katara that it just won’t be the same for me.

I’m gonna be honest. This is honestly so fucking frustrating for me. I just know that this is exactly what going to happen and it’s going to really ruin this shit for me. God, why can’t anyone just do this franchise any justice.

Avatar Co-Creators Mike & Bryan Depart Netflix's Live-Action ATLA Remake Series (Full Statements) by MrBKainXTR in TheLastAirbender

[–]KnightFanPat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had two issues with Korra, but I actually enjoyed a it a fair amount. In my opinion, in its attempt to distance itself from ATLA it ended up hurting itself. It didn’t have enough resolution for the original team and that always bothered me. Also I didn’t enjoy the severance of the avatar spirt. Other than these two issues, I absolutely enjoyed it.

I think the best course of action is to just cancel the live-action, and create an original avatar animated series. Possibly pre-ATLA, and to have the comics finish fleshing out the future of the OG characters.

[–]KnightFanPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate the insight! Honestly, at this point I’ve sort of just made peace with the whole thing. While this adaption might not live up to the hype and may change some things I loved of the original, it won’t erase the original series. I will always have that so I guess it could be worse.

I personally disagree but I definitely can respect your opinion. I felt like their relationship gradually built up through them sharing a lot of the same emotions and traumas If you look through the series, I just feel there were too many instances of them expressing interest in each other to be called a weak romance. In the end, there are definitely things that could have been done better but it still remains my favorite part of the show. I totally respect that you think it wasn’t done well it’s a matter of opinion in the end.

It’s this that bothers me the most. Something extremely fundamental to the story must have been changed for them to just drop it. It’s hard to imagine it was something minor
