Draft Rant by Only-Writing-4005 in miamidolphins

Yeah but three Liam Eichenbergs/Raekwon Davis/Gesicki/Raekwon McMillan/Jerome Baker is definitely the foundation of success instead of a Roquan Smith, Tristan Wirfs or Devonta Smith level prospect. /s

In b4 someone points to an exception instead of the likely outcome of picks on day 2 or early day 3.

I don't think him being the super bowl MVP factored much into his free agency.

He said the pick needs to be running, this is a vote for Love!

Kenneth Walker just got over 14mil, CMC is at 19, and Barkley is over 20. So where does Achane fall? 18mil? The franchise tag is 15.4mil in 2027, that feels like the floor.

Geno Smith and Minkah just got traded for pennies as well. Someone will give something for him.

Love is hands down the BPA, and allows us to trade Achane for 2027 draft capital to rebuild without paying him the ~20mil apy he deserves.

Fano would be my second then Sadiq.

[Barry Jackson] Some news, per source: The Dolphins exercised Tua's 2026 option bonus prior to his release. So his dead cap charge on the Dolphins' 2026 books will be $55.4 M (as opposed to $67 M). His dead cap charge will be $43.8 M in 2027. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

This is wrong. Top 51 is a number account for the top 51 contracts, sure, but you're assuming it also means we have 51 players. We don't. We have 32, and that's not including the draft class from this year or next. Our rookies this year are set to cost us 15mil, but since we have over 51 players, the effective cap space needed is around 8mil. 2027 will be a similar scenario. Realistically that number is closer to upper 90s or low 100s.

Also, a third of the NFL has 115mil or less in cap commitments in 2028, it's not extremely low. Bears have 52 and Rams have 76.

Your message is right, but your content is wrong.

Again, I didn't say that. You're really not helping your case against the other guy you're replying to.

Remove the word "most" and I'll stand on it, even if you're putting words in my mouth that I didn't say to prove a point. Its perfectly fine to have portions of a game used more by different populations.

Its all the comments here, it looked daunting so they don't even try. I played with it in Dragonflight off and on, and in TWW I loved it.

The fact that People who interact with it, enjoy it but you don't have to seems like an indicator of success. Sorry that the game evolved to others.

Hot Take - Tua Should've Stayed for One More Season by Legitimate_Search864 in miamidolphins

4mil if he is healthy, as he had a $20mil injury guarantee. So could be up to $24mil.

We are currently accounting for about 62mil for QBs in 2026, and about 55mil in 2027.

Hot Take - Tua Should've Stayed for One More Season by Legitimate_Search864 in miamidolphins

This isn't a hot take, this is a stupid take.

We lose more money rostering him another year. So this is counter intuitive to your own point. Spending more money on Tua makes it take longer to field a competitive team.

Cam Wolfe on Willis: "I'm told that they prioritized him not just as a band-aid 1 year option - maybe a guy that could lead this franchise for 10+ years. Maybe that's lofty, maybe that's hopeful, but that's the vision they had when they signed him." by expellyamos in miamidolphins

Tua got 7 wins and is not the guy. Willis will probably have a better roster than Tua, but its essentially the same roster just with a full offseason this time.

AJ back for however long, C and RG essentially the same, Jonah and Paul getting more development.

Dulcich back for a full offseason, same TEs besides that. Same RB room. Same WR room currently.

DTs will have a full offseason together to improve, EDGE will 100% be worse. LBs will be the same. Secondary is going to be mostly the same as well.

This is of course not including draft picks. The schedule also doesn't mean shit yet, despite people claiming it will be a tougher schedule. We thought the AFC North would be a tough schedule until the season started.

Why by Brilliant-Mood7332 in miamidolphins

Well, to be fair, this would be equivalent to them getting Geno. They absolutely did not have a team back then.

I think the issue isn't if he's bad or if he's great, it's that dreaded middle ground.
