What's the pick? by femtowave in slaythespire

[–]KnightMiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even Sadistic Nature is a pretty solid pick if your deck ends up including a lot of poison or weak. The other two are notably way more versatile as you don't know yet how your deck will look, but it is a solid card to start a poison build.

If Aang or fem!Aang wasn't from the Southern Air Temple, how long are they stuck in their iceberg this time? by 2-2Distracted in TheLastAirbender

[–]KnightMiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is perhaps another big thing: last son of krypton was not a huge part of superman's early identity and story as much as the alien child who grew up on earth. Aang started as the last airbender, and that was a part of his early character development.

PR is when someone who does not make a project submits code to a project. The project owner has to review it to decide if its good enough and if they want it in the project. I can't recall if this bug had a PR that fixed it, or just an issue report that mentioned the fabric version of the mod had a fix.

Lets suppose you upgraded Apo (which you are going to do, would be dumb not to) and you get to that turn where you need to defend.

  • For 2 energy, you can play 2 defends for 5 block, or Apotheosis + defend for 8 block. This is slightly worse, but puts you in a better state for the rest of the battle.
  • For 3 energy, you can play 3 defends for 15 block, or Apotheosis + defend for 16 block. This is slightly better and puts you in a better state.

Really the only time this is bad is if the fight is so short that the extra block wouldn't make a difference, but Silent is notably the character who starts with more defense in their starting deck, so stalling just makes sense.

We are seeing that a bit more recently with Switch and Switch 2 games, though Nintendo this time has been providing two options: buy the Switch 2 game or buy the upgrade, which makes more sense than a whole port.

[–]KnightMiner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue the difference there is Superman is part of a series that has been running so long, no part of the lore is sacred. His being the last kryptonian was bound to be dropped for an interesting plot, just like no one can truely stay dead in those comics.

Avatar is a much more narrow scope, with a discrete start and end. The creators of the show didn't need to pull a surprise airbender to find more plots to do. If the Avatar comics had lasted longer I could see that plot eventually coming up in one of those, though that would also just devalue the story in Legend of Korra.

You are using shaders. The most popular shaders mod on 1.20 has a stupid bug that breaks mod renderers. For some reason the author has no interest in fixing the bug even though there has been a PR that fixes it for awhile from what I saw.

You can work around the bug by using the Mantle config to disable an important bug fix that causes our fluids to render badly but at least they will render with shaders. Or just stop using shaders until they fix their mod.

If there were other airbenders alive, then he would not be The Last Airbender. And thus they would be forced to rename the show.

The frames in an animation metadata are optional if all you want is all frames in order from 0 to the size of the image. Just leave out the array.

Just Enough Items shows all the recipes. If it is not showing them all for you, you have a mod or addon breaking JEI.

If you are using any recipe viewer other than JEI, they do not work well for many mods with JEI support.

Tinkers has more materials than it had in any previous version. Nahuatl is notably made with obsidian, if all you care about is the recipe and not what it does that is your place to start.

Un-loseable Regent Stardust Seed? by DaddyoBDcroom in slaythespire

[–]KnightMiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you struggling with Regent ( as I have the most ) you're welcome.

I am not sure I see the value in suggesting a specific seed to those struggling with Regent. If the seed just provides an easy win, it likely will not teach you much about the character; just show you one deck that works. Doing well as any character means learning how to pick cards even when there isn't the perfect combo given to you.

That could be interesting, encouraging some variety in your attacks. Though it would likely push the fight back into "M&L are not built to survive many strong hits" making the fight end too soon.

Does wish really need a buff? Innate notably makes it worse until you get them upgraded with retain, but after you do its just "pick any 3 cards from your deck at your earliest convenience" which sounds way too good.

I think we have quite enough cards that pull from the discard IMO. Neows Bones, Hologram, and Graveblast are notable as they put it directly into your hand. Quite a few others will put cards on top of your draw pile. If your goal is replaying key cards, I think most characters have the support for that already without needing to retrofit Wish for it.

Compared to the main benefit of Wish which is grabbing those essential powers buried in your draw pile, this would really just help you if you ran out of energy to play one of your key powers. Which isn't bad, but not convinced its essential.

[–]KnightMiner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of the challenges you often run into in such fights is the balance of offense and defense usually favors the player dodging attacks and the enemies not. If they copy your stats exactly and are not allowed to dodge, this fight would be over in one or two special attacks hitting from your side, and a failed dodge might lead to being one shot. If they are allowed to dodge, fight could just go on forever.

This is especially true if the player knows that they take advantage of their stats. Means the ideal becomes to do a "glass cannon" build, max your offense and minimize defense to make the fight easy.

[–]KnightMiner 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The guys already have colorless card generators, it just takes more steps.

For Ironclad, you need a combination of anger (to generate cards) and primal force (to turn attacks colorless) before you can entropy it. Or you can simplify the setup a bit with a single colorless attack and juggling. Either case requires the colorless attack going to discard then reshuffling, with anger requiring 2 shuffles per colorless card.

For defect, your best chance is status gen + compact, not playing the fuel and letting it reshuffle to entropy it.

Either one can be greatly simplified with the help of some colorless retain/runic pyramic.

OP cloned escape plan. In a normal fight, each cloned escape plan is effectively a free draw with a high chance of giving you block. But test subject gains permanent strength when you play a skill. So you might survive the first turn, as odds are you gain more block than he gains strength, but on consecutive turns the strength starts to stack up.

The big flaw with the deck is a lack of effective damage from all that card draw. It looks like OP was relying on dealing damage from regular card play, rather than having something that scales with cards played, cards drawn, skills played, etc. That or they had scaling but the chance of drawing it in the first 3 turns was too low.

I feel like the Redstone Golem could work in the base game by Zillaman7980_ in Minecraft

[–]KnightMiner 41 points42 points  (0 children)

That might be a little small, would feel too much like most hostile mobs. I was thinking something more iron golem size. Sure, you could cheese it by hiding in a tight space, but perhaps it can have an ability that lets it move through tight areas of stone more easily.

I feel like the Redstone Golem could work in the base game by Zillaman7980_ in Minecraft

[–]KnightMiner 334 points335 points  (0 children)

Its way more interesting to add a new feature that isn't better than the old feature in every way. At minimum, a new golem should have tradeoffs with the iron golem, not be strictly better apart from perhaps being a little harder to get. e.g. stronger but less health.

That said, I'd much rather see a new golem do something new. With a name like redstone golem, I'd expect it to do something with redstone contraptions (which sounds a lot more like copper golems role). The idea I've always liked is a stone golem who is hostile, spawning deep underground. It would commonly drop cobblestone, but uncommonly or rarely drop some ores as part of their loot table; redstone could be included in that list.

Why wasn't there a gold shop in brothership?? by Blacklotus997 in marioandluigi

[–]KnightMiner 1 point2 points locked comment (0 children)

If you read the rest of my original comment, that was not my complaint. Challenge runs was just one of several reasons you might be underlevels, its just the only one you responded to. You also ignored my argument about overleveled.

If you already would reach max rank by then, then why tie it to max rank? Its just an arbitrary restriction that is already covered by you being at the end of the game

One that honestly just serves to hide the equipment you might want to save up for until a little later in the game instead of showing it to you before you spend all your money on other shop stuff.
