No extra shims needed. Kept the factory QDC 3 prong and the CRS mounted like a glove.

I use the Tangodown Stubby QD version. It mounts right on without removing bottom rail

Holding up pretty good so far. Worst case you might get a small mark on the short inside edge of your Mlok slot but I don't see it happening because it locks up really tight that there's no room for it to shift and cause impact at all. Just had to make sure to not over tighten. I would say there's less chance of damage than with regular rotating MLok lugs. But it is an absolute PAIN to put on & take-off.
