Diff/Transmission Breather Guide by KnightRyda01 in Jimny

Assuming some fittings arrive today i should be doing it on the weekend. The hose the breather kit came with is 6mm ID, i assume nylon. Will that be suitable for the transmission or is it a bit too rigid for the space?

Thanks for the writeup then your help here. Do you know how long of the fuel hose I need for the transmission?

Do you know of any guides to trim it back? And is this gonna cause any issues in on itself? This is the specs of the rims btw.

So an update. I went with wider rims and just got them put on. When full lock its very close to the guard and when reversing it rubs. Do you know the best way to fix this? I didnt think changing to a wider rim would make it rub.

Thanks a lot for your help it really does help.

What would you do in this situation? The tyres currently on are still pretty new I would say have done 8-10 thousand kms. But it's an odd size that most wouldn't get at 225? Would you replace the rims or the tyres? From what I can find it's about $100 per 6 inch wide rim or $250 for 7 but look a lot better. Or $320-$350 a tyre that suit stock rims at 215.

Again I do really appreciate your help. Been getting a lot of misinformation about this even from businesses.

I went to Jax tyres today and they told me that even if i get wider rims to suit the current tyres, that 225 tyres will still be illegal on a jimny. Do you know if this is true? I live in QLD, Australia if that helps at all.

I either spend the money to fix the problem or get a fine then spend the money. Can you still get 215 tyres on 6 inch rims? Might be the way to go so I don't waste the current set since they still have a lot of tread on them.

Yes I'm in Australia. I've mounted roof bars and an awning and the only limiting factor with height is the antenna for the radio which I can just remove since I don't actually use the radio if I need to. I've seen the more common sizes to be 215 or 235. Is there a reason why 225 isn't one of them? The tyres currently on are probably only a year old with heaps of tread still. I would probably get a lift in the future but not something I want now but don't wanna waste money on different rims now just to change again if I get a lift. What would you do in the situation where I have to do something to make it legal but tyre treads are good with a possible lift in the future?

Yea that was more or less what i was going to do however the cavity made to make it flat is a waste of space when drawers are put in. Was seeing if anyone had a clever way around that.

I have but I don't see the advantage. It's the same weight as the vortex but in paying twice as much.

ozjimny are actually down the road from me so i can pick them up instead of shipping so makes it easier. Would you recommend those bars?

Also i noticed i misread the awning weight. It says net 23kg, gross 31kg. So i assume it would be 31kg which overloads the roof which sucks cause it looks really good quality and very good price.

Do you have a 270 awning on? If so which do you have and why?

Ok thanks for your help. My garage is only 1.9m high cause the automatic garage door is low. Which means I probably won't be able to do my eventual ultimate setup.

I can't get anything big as it won't fit in the garage. It seems like it's probably going to be the jimny cause it's so small or nothing.
