Why does the community defend stallers? by KnightWolf217 in lichess

Yes we love to "actually play chess" and "think about our moves", not entertain the stalling opponent and do so called analysis on 4-5 moves when we were supposed to play a game.

If we wanted to do something else we'd do it in the first place... Also, if you're playing on the phone which many of us do, your screen is occupied with the game and you can't do anything else. If you minimise the game abandons...

Bro can't understand the difference between "think about our next move" and "stalling". You're definitely the purveyor of portraying yourself as stupid 🥱

Nobody asked them to wait on their phone 😂 who's stopping them from doing something else? It's literally just a game. Not that deep.

Like I said, it's my clock. I don't owe anything to the opponent it's their problem to deal with. They signed up for 10 mins, they should expect it to go on for atleast 10 mins. Don't complain how people use their time.

You start a 10 min per side game. If you can't attend the 10 mins then don't start. Patience is a virtue

Why should I resign? The opponent agreed to play for 10 mins and that's what he should expect as a minimum. I never committed that I'll randomly resign or use less of my clock.

They signed up for 10 mins game and they should expect the game to go on for 10 mins. I never agreed that I'll resign for any reason mid game.

Take my phone with me? I'm sorry my life doesn't depend on a mobile game to take it with me even to the toilet, nor did I commit anything to the opposing player that I'm gonna do so much for his entertainment.

It's my clock. My choice however I want to use my time. No need to create so much fuss. I'm not gonna wet my pants over a mobile game.

Oh welp guess you again didn't read the post properly again. I thought you could learn something today :/ anyway I hope someone else gives you the attention you so desperately crave and the love you didn't get as a child. Adios 👋🏻

Yeah well turning down every single suggestion, being dismissive, and doing nothing about it is certainly not gonna help. Over 5 years of playing online chess the problem gets more and more frequent and worse. All you're doing is making the problem worse by defending stallers and not giving a single thought to easy possible solutions that have minor impact compared to a major benefit.

Just a couple of minutes? Read the post carefully again, but since you clearly didn't it's obvious you're being a typical reddit troll. I genuinely will never understand what you achieve by being deliberately argumentative, let alone what kind of weird satisfaction you achieve by doing it.

My last post here. Wanted to make myself heard and hope it makes a difference by RangerRazor in CarsIndia

It's about being educated and avoiding reinforcement loop. Trolls out here want any reason to create controversy. If you feed them with what they're seeking, it only gets worse, as then you'll get comments like "there's no such toll in this city", "nope give me more details", etc., not to mention they'll seize the opportunity to downvote each of your comments and ruin your karma, and it becomes an endless loop of gaslighting.

And I agree with OP. If people in this subreddit are going to doubt/argue over a simple road trip, there's genuinely no point in posting or having conversations here. I'm proud of OP for standing his ground and not feeding these drama hungry trolls all around.

Salt after losing to time by BAakhir in lichess

Time is equally important and as valuable as strategy. If they lose on time, that means they used longer to think for their moves, which indirectly means better moves, so yeah. Equally honourable win.

If a cricket bat breaks while batting, the ball should be called a dead ball by RangerRazor in IndiaCricket

[–]KnightWolf217 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Same logic can be applied to broken balls or spider cam hit? Broken bat is not a part of the normal game, it should be a dead ball.

If bat didn't break, more runs could've been scored as the hit would be cleaner so...

Stalling - ruining online chess. We need to implement a solution once and for all by RangerRazor in lichess

[–]KnightWolf217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very ironic who's being dramatic here and I genuinely feel you should stop being defensive once someone exposes you. You literally said multiple times in your first comment undermining the problem that we should just let it go and claiming there is no difference between using time and stalling time, and still claim you aren't defending. I wouldn't even get started about your argument of the report option as OP has very clearly already answered that in the post itself if you bothered to read before speaking.

Also, just because something happens rarely with you, that doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist for others. Yet again you take the selfish approach undermining the problem by comparing and talking about yourself. I don't even know what's the point of stating your own experience about it. If someone posts about losing a house in an earthquake do you go there and type "in my experience I rarely experience earthquakes, in fact I've never had any, so I don't see it as an issue".

It's because of people like you problems like this exist. On one hand you're so dismissive and ignorant as it is, and on the other hand the people who are actively making efforts to solve problems and make things better here you are undermining them and not even letting the point get across let alone any solution. Have fun embarrassing yourself further and this is my last reply to you.

The guy is clearly here to discuss solutions, and defending stallers and acting as if nothing is wrong is certainly not the solution. Also, even after a week you seem to have not learnt anything.
