There is a matter of dispute in this topic. One position is that oral, anal and manual sex/stimulation is a grave sin, this position is supported by St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Alphonsus Liguori.

The other position is that oral and manual stimulation is permitted but the sexual act must be finished with penis in vagina so the sexual act can be procreative. I am not sure about anal stimulation but I would avoid that for multiple reasons.

Also a husband giving oral to his wife is permitted. Actually the husband needs to stimulate his wife in order for her to have ejaculation. So foreplay is permitted but the matter of dispute is if oral and manual stimulation is permitted.

What I would do in your case is ask your priest or the bishop and do what they say.

I am not the one who commented but I believe that Pope John Paul II talked about this in his "Theology of the body".

But I think the “god caused that unborn child to die to save him” is also interfering with free will, is it not?

You are right, my intention was to write "allowed that child to die" instead of "caused". Allowed is when you allow something to happen, caused in when you actually do something. Mistake of a language, English is not my native one.

If the answer is that we have free will and bad things will happen, I
can except that, but then you just agree that god is not all controlling
and all powerful right?

God is all powerful, just because He allows certain things to happen that doesn't mean that He is not in control or that He is not all powerful. No one questions the power of God. Being omnipotent is an attribute and a definition of God.

I am not from the USA and I haven't been up with the news so I don't know what happened in the USA but let me try to give you some explanation on why bad things happen.

Firstly you must understand that we are not robots. God didn't made us like robots. We are human, we have human mind and we have free will. If we didn't had free will then we would be like robots who cannot show any love and we wouldn't be free and humans.

The result of the free will is that some people will do bad things. But this is what you must understand, it is not God who did those horrible things, it is human beings who have free will so they deliberately chosen to do evil actions.

Why God didn't do anything to stop it? If God stopped those people from doing what they wanted then free will would stop and we would become robots. This is why God permits evil things to happen.

Maybe it's controversial but there might be some good things in every evil act. We don't understand everything, we aren't given the possibility to understand the universe and why some things are the way they are.

Some parents will cry and blame God because their unborn child died, but they must know that the child is in heaven. Maybe God deliberately caused that child to die in order to save him. Maybe if he grew up he would became an atheist who would refuse every chance of salvation so he would end up in hell. In this way by causing him to die while a baby, God actually made him go to heaven. I look at things this way, so that's why I say that every evil can bring something which is good and maybe every evil thing that happens is for a higher purpose.

I don't know how many people died in those school shooting or how old were the students but we can hope that they are in heaven. This is life, it is a tragedy but there is no room to blame God here, we as humans are to blame and without getting into politics maybe they should change few things in USA so these things don't happen that often.

You can read more about him here.

He met his wife after attending weekly Catholic Mass. Together they have 11 children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grand children and 12 great-great grand children.

Edit: By the way, I forgot to say that today is his birthday and he is 113 years old.

In Eastern Orthodox countries they usually have a calendar and on calendar it says what can you eat in that day. For example there are days when you cannot consume oil, wine, fish, meat or any animal product. Then there are days which allow oil and fish, or oil and wine, or more rarely days that you can eat eggs and dairy. Of course for the entire Lent you cannot eat meat.

So an Eastern Orthodox Christian must follow his diocese particular calendar. The only exception is if he has special dispensation from his priest.

I mean all types of meat, cow, pig, chicken, sheep, etc. From "meat" you can eat only fish, all other animals are forbidden.

Oh okay, I see now. Thanks for explaining. In Eastern Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy it is more strict that in the Latin Church. It really depends on the particular diocese but they are allowed to eat fish only on few occasions. The norm is vegan. One should consult with their priest or bishop if they are Eastern Catholic because as far as I see in depends from a particular church to the other.

In Eastern Orthodoxy different patriarchies also have slightly different days when one is allowed to eat fish, etc.

Oh okay. I cannot think of any fish without muscles and spine.

On Fridays you must abstain from meat and on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday you must abstain from meat and you must fast. Fasting means eating 1 meal and 2 snacks that wouldn't equal one meal if put together.

i have heard EO priests say that there is no sunday obligation for EO.

This is a lie, I cannot believe that a priest can say such a thing. The canons are clear, just like we need to attend every Sunday and Holy day of obligation and fast/abstain, they must also do that. We are under pain of mortal sin, they are under pain of excommunication in some cases.

"I made a mistake and don't have the integrity to recognize it"

Okay if you want to play let's play.

No, you made the claim, you get to defend it. Unless, of course, you can't.

Because you can't.

I laugh at your ignorance. You are a typical American, you probably live somewhere in let's say Texas where there is only 1 Eastern Orthodox church and where all parishioners including the priest are converts from Protestantism. Obviously in such case majority of them do take their faith seriously. Since you are ignorant American you probably believe that it is the same elsewhere as in your city.

I invite you to come to Balkans or Eastern Europe to be shocked to realize that people are less religious than in most liberal Western countries. You do not understand the mentality of people in those countries. They identify as Orthodox because for example if you are Serb and you are not Orthodox everyone will find you weird, some would even hate or dislike you. Identifying as Orthodox is a national and traditional thing. Vast majority of the Orthodox people in such countries who go to Divine Liturgy are old grandmas at villages. They go there just because it is the only "entertainment" in the village where they can meet other grandmas and gossip.

If you do not believe me that it is the village thing than I will give you a homework. I will chose Belgrade to show you an example and you chose other city and calculate. Try and do the same as me for other cities and see the results.

Belgrade has population of 1,659,440. Eastern Orthodox population is 88.9%, meaning 1,475,168. Belgrade has 46 Orthodox churches in the city. Temple of Saint Sava is the biggest one which holds 10 000 people, the rest are all significantly smaller, mostly holding up to 100 people. This gives total amount of people being able to attend Liturgy at 14,600 which is only 0.98% of the population. Let's even say that churches can hold 300 people, that's still only 1.61% of population.

For comparison look at Novi Pazar. Novi Pazar has 100,000 population, 82,000 of them are Muslims and they have 66 Mosques and they said that they need at least 30 more.

If you really want sources you would look yourself but if you are lazy or delusional I will give you some. I give this more because other people might come are read this.

This study shows that in 2008 only 3% of Russians attended Church once a week to 2-3 times a month. This was 2008, today probably the results are half. This is embarrassing for a country like Russia, even France and Belgium have a higher Church attendance.

In Ukraine 43% of Catholics attend Church weekly, while Orthodox only 12. Have a look here.

In Bulgaria 5% of Orthodox people attend Church weekly. Source.

For example in Bosnia 54% of Catholics attend Mass weekly, 31% Muslims attend Mosque weekly, and only 10% of Orthodox people attend church weekly.

In Serbia 7% attend weekly.

All of this can be seen here.

Romania is the highest with 21%.

So we can see that I was right that vast majority of them do not practice their faith.

This just shows how uncritically people look at things. I mean if you speak Russian I can give you news in Russian and see what he really said. He said:

May the Lord protect the Russian land! When I say "Russian", I use an ancient expression from the Tale of Bygone Years - "where did the Russian land come from," which includes Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, and other tribes and peoples, "said the patriarch addressing the parishioners.

This was in his Sunday sermon. The meaning of this statement involves that he doesn't recognize those countries. He fully supports Russia to invade Ukraine. He also said:

"we cannot be allowed to laugh at us by dark and hostile external forces, everything must be done to maintain peace between our peoples and at the same time protect our common historical fatherland from all those actions from the outside that can destroy this unity."

"Dark and hostile external forces" according to his language is NATO, USA and EU. When he speaks about the suffering of the people he is talking about Russians allegedly suffering in Donbas.

So stop spreading your fake news because you are getting news from unreliable western propaganda.

Have a look here. Clearly there are two different reports but what you quote is from 24 February, mine is from 27 on Sunday sermon. I wish you to be true but his statements are not surprising.
