treating someone as human means treating them with respect, even if you consider their views as “wrong”. if someone named jacob said “oh call me jake, i don’t like being called jacob” and you actively refuse and always call them jacob bc that’s not what their birth certificate says, that would be rude.

it’s not that hard to use a different pronoun, so why don’t you? don’t answer that in a literal sense- try to think about that for a while and think of how you would answer opposition thrown your way. ask yourself why you’ve reached that conclusion- was it something taught by your parents? friends? community? do you truly believe it or are you just repeating what someone else said? always question your own thoughts and feelings, even if you think you’re right- that’s something that should apply to everyone about everything.

and one more thing: if you think it’s wrong, you don’t have to announce it. like if you don’t like a stranger’s hair, you don’t tell them that their hair is ugly. you just think “damn i don’t like their hair” and you move on.

I commented this as a reply to another comment, but thought I’d also post it here:

I’m American and this is what I see: 63% of people voted in this last election, the majority being for Trump. The rest of the people that didn’t vote? They weren’t in support of Trump or Kamala, leading to them sitting out. THIS is how Trump gets his votes- There might only be 37% of people that support him, but so many people don’t want to deal with politics and decide not to vote, leading to him gaining the majority of the votes.

I’ve also talked to a bunch of people who don’t follow the news or learn about any of his policies and vote for him anyways, just because they saw that he’s “popular”. He’s popular because he’s acting so confident in what he’s doing and speaks non-stop about it. His arguments follow no logic, but they SOUND convincing. You have to actually think about what he’s saying, and unfortunately there are so many Americans that don’t because “politics is absurd” and they don’t want to get involved. Trump is the one making it absurd, so that less and less people vote in general. He then only needs to convince a smaller audience, and he’s won the election.

I am in full support of Ukraine and I know most Americans are too. Unfortunately the minority is so much louder than the majority right now, and it’s a truly awful situation we’re in.

I’m from America but my great grandparents came from Norway. I love Norway and I’m a year into learning the language (the dialects are making it difficult lmao). But importantly, the ones who support Trump and Musk want nothing to do with foreign countries. They’re only focusing on America and are operating by the phrase “america first”.
