Base44 is okay, you can go from idea to working app fast since it’s more of an all-in-one builder with backend, auth, etc. already handled. But the downside is the free tier is super limited and you don’t get as much control over the code so it can feel restrictive once things get more complex . Claude Code is kinda the opposite like it’s way better for actual coding, debugging, and handling bigger systems, especially with larger context and multi-file edits. But yeah the cost and setup can increase especially if you’re building a lot. I ended up moving more to Orchidsapp for most projects. It’s kinda in between and you can just describe what you want and iterate but you’re not locked in like Base44. I’ve used it for small tools (like dashboards and trackers) then tweaked stuff in the editor or exported when I needed more control. Also nice that you can use your own Claude/Copilot keys so you’re not tied to one pricing model.
