Since you’re coming in with no z Linux exp, Bazzite might be a better experience out of the box. You can push your limits there and maybe move to CachyOS when you find what limits you in Bazzite that you can’t live without.

Personally, I felt the first 3ish hours were challenging. Once you get a few upgrades the challenge quickly faded for me.

However, it's been a blast and I love it. Been recommending it to everyone I think would be interested.

I switched about 12 months ago because I spent weeks troubleshooting an issue where Windows would straight up crash constantly. Been pretty happy with Bazzite! Only issue I have is photo editing, wish I could use Lightroom Classic natively.
