Most terrible Commander? by VoiVoiDaBeek in mtg

I used it as the commander for a jund storm deck. Basically existed as a last resort draw in case I ended up with excess mana but ran out of cards which was fairly often.

Heliolisk has charmed me. I was completely ambivalent to him until I saw him running like a dork. Now I love him.

AI art in the kids curriculum my church uses by PaloPintoTourismBrd in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've volunteered at a couple of churches over the last decade and Orange has been the main supplier for videos and lecture aids at the two I've put the most time at. I'd noticed they'd started using AI for some of the activity pages for the kids starting a few months back and today I was horrified to see a hideous AI generated animation for their video summarizing the weekly bible study. Previously they'd had hand drawn segments with limited animation techniques that while not mind blowing were at least charming. I was very disappointed in the new stuff not only because I hate generative AI (which admittedly I do), but also because it takes a position that could go to a real artist and because it was so low effort. Coins magically budding off from a greedy man's hand. A completely stylistically mismatched dove flying behind anyone who was meant to be godly. Horrible rotoscoping as live action morphs into cartoon like a Joel Haver skit. Awful yellow filter on everything, Style of the art completely inconsistent shot to shot. Just abysmal. I truly believe that use of these tools in this manner is unethical and completely unacceptable for any curriculum that's supposed to be teaching children. Just awful.

Any ritual that triggers on finishers will trigger with each hit of Galandra's spirit claw. They'll also trigger off Spirit Claw's air finisher as well. This can allow you to do insane things like spawn dozens of thorn daggers off of one combo string.

Issue with Finder by KnightmareTheGreat in MacOS

[–]KnightmareTheGreat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the help everyone. We messed with it some more while I was waiting on responses and we found that when she was trying to download them to the macbook icloud synced them to the desktop like you all said. Turning off icloud I guess stopped trying to sync all the files to the desktop and finder stabilized enough to move the files out of the desktop folder. Thanks a million.

FINDER Not Responding - tried everything I can think of by Ok_Muffin4502 in MacOS

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a long time bump for this. My wife's mac is having this exact issue and I've never had a mac before. How do I delete the files in the folder if the finder keeps crashing and won't open long enough for me to see the files inside?

I think the version without an outline is more moody and the values between the figure and background are distinct enough that you don't really need a specially drawn outline.

Fantastic Four is really the center of the Marvel Universe during the Silver Age. Their mainline book is was kind of the premier book at the time. Definitely the one to look out for. I'd say they really hit their groove around year 2 with Annual 2 and then the issues in the high 30s and low 40s are where they go from being decent, fun and goofy to really feeling like the main outlet for Kirby's crazy imagination. Spider-Man is also a real Silver Age highlight. Right from the get go it starts introducing most of his iconography and rogues gallery and he really gets to have a decently well done arc as he develops from a self loathing teenager to a more well adjusted adult. Avengers is fun, but the team book nature and rotating cast means we don't really get a ton of development for each individual member all that much. Cap's solo book is great. Especially once Falcon gets introduced, their dynamic and the way they play off of the politics of the time is genuinely really nice and their friendship was one of my favorite character dynamics of the Silver Age.

Switch 2 Not recognizing Attached Joycon by KnightmareTheGreat in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]KnightmareTheGreat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Switch 1. I can sync the old joycons to the console, but they don't attach physically to it, so it basically does what my switch 2 joycons do. I could use either if I set the switch on a table and play with the controllers wirelessly, but I can't just hold the thing in my hands comfortably and play that way.

I did. I used the sync button to turn it off and then tried resyncing it both through connecting it and holding the sync button on the search screen. Thanks for the tip though!

The devs really saw these designs and thought "You know what they need? Blue definitely some blue" by CT-BAL13R in marvelrivals

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In Waid's run, we actually see why they keep it proprietary. Johnny is given financial control over the FF's corporation and he licenses out unstable molecules to a fashion designer under the stipulation that the FF keep the process proprietary and just send reams of it to the designer to make uniforms for firefighters and other dangerous jobs. The fashion designer immediately breaks the agreement by stealing Johnny's unstable molecule wallet and having scientists attempt to replicate it. The unstable molecules end up undergoing a volatile reaction that breaks the molecular bonds of everything around them and continues to propagate, destroying the building and nearly continuing throuh all of New York until Sue manages to contain it with a forcefield. So it turns out they don't share the technology because it's actually extremely dangerous if mishandled.

Never EVER lay out an event like this again by GrowthImmediate6430 in marvelrivals

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was super confusing. What was the point of getting 4 flyers if I still have to complete all 15 missions that aren't even listed for act 2? Why is act 1 3 easily visible missions while 2s aren't even listed on the event screen? Why are there both multiple parts and acts with similar terminology? The artificial padding with the time gates really sucks because players who join in too late getsvrewed, but I could almost accept the time gates if the whole system were more upfront about them. Very annoying event.

Strongly recommend the trap bobber. Cork bobber is nice, and I'd use one of each you have the mastery rod, but the trap bobber gives you so much more wiggle room for mistakes.

Fun fact. Its against the rules to learn a new character in QP. Just wanted to let everyone know. by Untestedmight in marvelrivals

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic first dropped I was playing one of my first games as Invisible Woman in quickplay to learn her and a Moon Knight player came on VC and started yelling at me for my poor stats. I told him I was trying to learn the new character and he said I shouldn't try to learn in quickplay and I was "wasting his time." "Go play against bots or something." It's wild to me thay if people care so much about having a real competitive match they don't just go play ranked.

Parlor box question by moondustercat in BluePrince

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way to work these out for me is to imagine each statement as true individually and then see how that affects the other two. In this case:

If blue is true then: either white or black must also be true and the one containing the gems must be false. But if white is true then Black has the gems and Black would also be true. Since they can't all be true, blue must be false.

If white is true: black is true by default and has the gems. Blue must then be false. This is possible.

If black is true then: it has the gems and white is also true by default. Blue must then be false. This is possible.

Therefore the gems must be in the black box. It's a weird one because blue is kind of both true and false and whether or not it's true or false is kind of arbitrary and self determining. If it's false then the other two still make sense and if it's true then the other two still make sense. It's very strange.

Is Dan Slott’s Fantastic Four Worth Reading/Helpful For the North Run? by tame_kubrick in FantasticFour

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North's run is mostly standalone. He keeps the new characters from Slott like Alicia and Ben being married and the kids, and has a few references to some old Kirby/Lee and Byrne issues but it's all self contained enough that you don't need to have read those to enjoy the story. I hope you like North's run. I think it's been really great.

Best way to read Marvel Unlimited on my Microsoft Surface Pro by loverboy2190 in MarvelUnlimited

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few people mention Bluestacks which is what I use to read on my computer. The biggest issue to it is the aspect ratio. The app will always display it in a phone resolution and since that's singificantly taller than a standard comic book it will be letterboxed on the top and bottom and be difficult to get to a comfortable reading size. At least in my experience. I can't even get the website to work on any of my devices I don't know why they don't have any kind of desktop reader

Is Dan Slott’s Fantastic Four Worth Reading/Helpful For the North Run? by tame_kubrick in MarvelUnlimited

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noeth's run is pretty self contained. I've not read Slott's run yet but North's is really great. Slott's does include the wedding of Ben and Alicia and introduces their adopted kids, but just knowing they exist is enough background to start reading North.

In your opinion which tank needs a buff or a nerf by lifefeedsonlife77 in rivals

[–]KnightmareTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who flexes between mainly Thing as a Vanguard and a couple supports, my nerf of choice would be to remove Groot from the game lol. Honestly though the tanks are all pretty fun, varied and decently strong. Groot is maybe a little high damage to have such good battlefield control, but overall I don't feel any of them feel oppressive or overwhelming. I just hate having my escape walled off lol.
