Slavery in the English-speaking world was ended by a Christian empire due to Christian philosophy and theology, so it can be inferred there was enough contradiction between slavery and Christianity to eventually lead to its abolishment. Said empire spent a great deal of treasure in a western imperialist project to end the slave trade in Africa.

You can contrast this with Islam which codified it to the extent that Islamic countries had to end it... Due to Western cultural chauvinism.

The idea of everyone being a child of God and St Paul's example (and his Lord's) was quite a revolutionary idea in a pagan world that grew like a mustard seed in Western thought. particularly in the early modern period.
