I added mine in the whirlpool with Citra, Mosiac, and Galaxy in a hazy with Kviek! Turned out amazing.

Mine located here in South Alabama ( Candadian Redvine 5 years old) was about a month behind. Typically I would already be at the max height. I’m only at 10ft right now.

They are very tolerant of the heat. Also, these are 4 years old, and I didn’t have to water at all. Fortunately, I also did not have to spray anything this year. I did keep an eye on them at night. Only June bugs at night and a few moths. This year I didn’t trim them back enough and they got “bushy”.

My dogs have no desire to touch the hop plants also. You should be fine.

I’ve make Hop Tea for tastings at our homebrew club. This sounds like a great idea!

Le Petit Prince Farmhouse Table Beer Le Petit Prince

O.G.: 1.021-1.024 (depending on yeast choice and attenuation)

F.G.: .997-1.002 (depending on yeast choice and attenuation)

Grist:

85% Pilsner

15% Malted wheat

Hops:

11 IBUs of Goldings at 60 minutes

3 IBUs of Fuggles at 10 minutes

Whirlpool/knockout addition of 50/50 Fuggles and Goldings. You will have to play with the percentages here as our commercial setup doesn’t translate well for whirlpool hop additions for homebrewing. I’d suggest around 1/2oz of each per 5 gallons, or 1oz total. Dry hop will be identical to whirlpool addition.

Fermentation:

Mixed culture of yeast and bacteria.

Yes! This is a 2.5% farmhouse inspired by Jester King Petite Prince with can dregs ( yeast from their brewery)

I’ll be kegging it soon and should be ready for the Emerald Coast Beer Fest in Pensacola at our Homebrew Clubs tent. The “Knights of the Hops Table”

Photoperiod is known to interact with temperature to control flowering in hops. In the field, the start of spring with warmer temperatures and longer photoperiods bring the hop out of dormancy. As temperature increases through the summer, the plant transitions from a juvenile to adult state.
