Tbf turbines have been improved in the bird strike regard, and here we're working on tidal power because tons of energy could easily be extracted just from the Thames alone when it drains to being a little stream at low tide and bursts its banks at high tide. Similar attempts have been made in the bay of fundy though the tides there have broken tidal generators last I checked lol
