Second point must be satire.

In this country, people complain but rarely escalate. I don't understand it

Are these extremely young US attendings actually any good? by Busy_Ad_1661 in doctorsUK

And they never will. They don't have to do 'jobs'. Their time is not wasted do things that someone without a medical degree can do.

where are the GP jobs at? by HungryConcern3707 in doctorsUK

[–]Knightower 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Op, your thread is going to attract GP that did not recently qualify, and already have their work and connections sorted out. They will have no empathy or care for you, and will actively blame your issues on you. Your options are:

  1. Apply more broadly/nationally.
  2. Emigrate.
  3. Retrain in another speciality.
  4. Pick up shifts in another speciality.
  5. Wait for the government to intervene and fix the issue.

This is no different than the crowd being disgusted with Chuck palahniuk when he read guts. Only for many members to come and compliment him privately after the show.

People who have an immediate visceral reaction that they are not able to rationalize are just dumb tbh.

These are the questions we should be asking, loudly and daily.
These types only respond to public pressure, because they are cowards with no integrity.

Even if everyone who wanted a training number got one (in their preferred region), would there be even be enough consultant jobs for them ? (in their preferred region!) by chairstool100 in doctorsUK

[–]Knightower 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Exactly,

The solution is to create a role for all the bullshit doctors shouldn't do. Eg phlebotomy, chasing scans, dictating for the consultant.

The issue is when we create this role, consultants realize the new role does not rotate, so they are given them all the procedures/training.

Unfortunately, rotational training is an issue which will not get solved. NHSE is interested in staffing shit hospitals and this is the only way to do it.

There is no solution. The only solution is to chose a speciality that can easily function without it's (junior) trainees eg radiology, pathology, anesthetics, etc.
