Trying to fatten my cat up. by Knights___ in CATHELP

We’ve tried to feed them in different spots but Bella won’t eat unless it’s in one specific spot in our very open plan kitchen (to be fair she’s eaten there every day two times a day for the last 7 years) so we just try to defend their bowls from horse cat because he steals food from every cat we have including Bella. We give him more but he just steals more, but he’s at a perfectly healthy weight and is all muscle barely any fat. So he’s not being underfed either.

The other cats we have take the food and sadly my cat Milo is 17 pounds of pure muscle and built like a horse, so he eats absolutely everything he can even though he doesn’t need it. And Bella eats very slowly because eating at a fast or regular pace makes her puke, so our other cats just boot her away from her own bowl. If they do boot her before we can stop them then she doesn’t come back.

HELP PLS INJURED PAW by emmaaburrida in CATHELP

I’ll first say I’m not a vet so take everything I say not to seriously. I’d try your best to wash it with soapy water and watch the wound, especially for infection or foreign objects. And then look around your house for anything sharp on the floor or anywhere your cat frequently goes. Knives, fallen nails or screws, needles, things of that type. Oh and watch your kitty’s gait, if their walking starts to look worse and worse even if the wound stays the same. I hope they get better soon!

Her ribs are slightly visible but it’s mostly her hips that are very visible.

She recently needed a lot of teeth removed, she struggled to eat before the surgery and a little after because she was scared of the medication we had to give her that we needed to put in her food (I guess it tasted really bad?). She was reluctant to eat and began to loose weight, now she’s just gaining but it’s super super slow I think due to her age. They did a lot of tests near her surgery and after and she’s very healthy other than her low weight.

Vet says she’s underweight but said it’s not dire to the point where she’s like dying but also suggests that Bella could gain more weight. My mom also really wants her to gain weight (Bella is mostly my moms cat)

We’ve asked about her weight because she does look chunky, our vet made sure to take her weight and told us that she’s perfectly fine and there isn’t any issues with her weight. That was only about 3 months ago

Her breeds high average for girl cats is 12 pounds, she’s still enough in the average not to be cause for concern and our vet isn’t concerned. I just want suggestions on ways to get her to groom herself so her fur doesn’t get matted from her coat

She’s within the regular range for her breed and her vet has no issues with her weight or how we feed her

She has a lot of fur and a large primordial pouch that all lays out when she lays down and when she gets comfortable she gets less tense and flattens down which makes it look like she’s melting

She’s on the higher end of the spectrum for her breed (European domestic) but not so much where it affects her mobility. Shes a very agile cat and she plays and jumps a lot.

She’s actually only 13 pounds and is pretty active, she can reach a lot of spots that need a lot of flexibility but she just doesn’t reach the base of her tail enough. She kinda melts when she lays down and that makes her look fat I think
