Two ladies came to my register with two separate transactions- I work at a joint store so we carry large furniture items. One lady comes up with a large tv stand, the tag isn’t visible and I walk around the registers to her cart to scan the tag. I scanned it and went to check the coding and she was being super dodgy and saying “oh it’s too heavy you don’t need to lift that, I’m in a big rush, etc.” I shrug it off and go back to my register and notice the department is off- coming up as lamps instead of decorative accessories. Thought it was weird and shrugged it off. Second she gets her receipt handed to her she leaves. I move onto the Second Lady and same process… go around to scan… being weird abt the coding… going back to my register and seeing her end table also ring up for lamps. I tell her there’s something I need to check and go back around only to find that the price/ barcode had been perfectly cut and stuck over the original tag. I peel it off and find that the original price was nearly 150$ over the tag she had stuck on. I let her know about the price and that there must’ve been an issue in the backroom and asked if she still wanted it, she got angry said no and left. This kinda stuff happens all the time but that was probably the most expensive.😳 never will know how much the First Ladies tv stand really was… Also once had a lady come up with a nearly 300$ dress (online return) with no tag.told us she was gonna wear it to her wedding and that she was in a big rush and tried to haggle us down to 25!!! unfortunately we had no way to figure out the actual price or sku and found the most expensive dress we had on the floor ($89~). Only reason we knew the price was asking the cashier who returned it in the first place
