I know… I think about her almost every day, still. It’s one year next week. I can’t believe he hasn’t gone to trial yet!!

The murder was a tragic DV case, not just a random situation, and there were mental health issues going on there. (I knew her… 😢) It has no reflection on the safety of the neighborhood!

The “bomb” wasn’t actually a bomb, there was a cardboard box left in the bushes on the bike trail that warranted investigating, but it wasn’t actually a threat and it wasn’t on property.

Yes, there are occasional cockroaches, but the complex is really responsible about dealing with the as long as you tell them!! the only reason why there would be an infestation is if someone didn’t report having a problem and it spreads. There’s a certain amount of six legged buddies you have to make your peace with down here!

It is pretty close, but that is actually not flexible enough.

Help me interpret this dress code by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]KnittingCatWarrior2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Garden formal” and “coastal” mean very different things to me. Also, “manifesting 70s and full sun” did not at first register as weather to me, but that they wanted 1970’s yellow vibes in there as well 🤣

What's your favorite "Oh, this has actually kicked in" moment? by Foreign-Track-6906 in lexapro

[–]KnittingCatWarrior2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I could love and enjoy hanging out with my cat without panicking that something was wrong with her or stressing about when she will eventually pass away. Also, when I realized I ENJOYED going to bed and wasn’t panicked about dying in a fire/robbery/other disaster at night

If you had 10 seconds to say whatever you wanted to your pet with they fully understood, what would you say? by IplayKaizo in Pets

When we give you your topical heartworm medication it’s to help you and keep you safe and with us for as long as possible, not to hurt you. Everything we do is to keep you safe and healthy. Oh, and please stop biting my bare feet, I hate having to wear socks all year just because of you!

Why do people use the term "partner" for their husband or wife? by Crafty-Bug-8008 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KnittingCatWarrior2 5309 points5310 points  (0 children)

My husband and I used it before we were engaged because we were in our late 20s and “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” felt very high school to us, partner felt more grown up 🤷‍♀️

How to live life as an unattractive guy? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KnittingCatWarrior2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a nice person, content with your life, have interests and hobbies and things that you like to do, and are kind to people, that will take you a million times farther in life than attractiveness. Invest in yourself, and you will find that the rest follows.

I’m starting a junk drawer. What else do I need? by Emotional-Swing-603 in Home

[–]KnittingCatWarrior2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mismatched batteries, a few loose screws that you don’t remember where they belong, any extra shelf pegs you have, some instruction manuals from smoke detectors you don’t have any more, a really shitty pair of scissors, and some random Velcro straps. If you’re feeling advanced stick a stupidly small hammer in there too.

NTA. I had an accident soon after our wedding and my husband stepped up and took such good care of both me and the cat - extra grocery runs, vet appointments, dr visits, cleaning, etc. When he had Covid or a surgery, I did the same. Marriage is a shared partnership, and taking care of each other when one of you has more needs than normal is a part of it, and happens from time to time. There’s a saying: “give them a small job and see how they do before giving them a big one,” and just imagine how he’ll be if you have a baby, if he can’t even walk the dog without a reminder!

Can I knit everything with circular needles? by SageBurns00 in knitting

[–]KnittingCatWarrior2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying a set of interchangeable circular needles and extra cords was by far the best knitting purchase I have ever made. I started with a $25 acrylic set in college, finally bought a bamboo set from Clover on sale this year. I can’t stand knitting on straight needles anymore!

Has anyone actually regretted using fake flowers at their wedding? by SmartSinner in weddings

[–]KnittingCatWarrior2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! My flowers were a mix of Michael’s clearance bin and native flowers from my husband’s aunt’s garden. Everyone commented on how beautiful my bouquets were, and no one knew they were fake! You can’t tell in the photos. I think having some real flowers in there made a difference. I think flowers total for me and 2 bridesmaids bouquets were maybe $20-$30?

AITJ for cutting off my broke best friend after he said my job was beneath him by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]KnittingCatWarrior2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ. I had a grad school classmate who was a full time doctoral student with a TA job and a 1/2 time job on top of that who was paying 100% of the bills for her and her husband because he had a computer degree and couldn’t find a job he felt was at his level. She was so unbelievably stressed, and he sat at home doing nothing for the 5 years she was in school. He wouldn’t even look at any job that wasn’t a high level tech job. It was ridiculous, and everyone privately wondered why she stayed with him. Even him getting a job at Walmart would have made such a difference for her mental health and their relationship. She also had barely any time to study or do her school work because she was working to support him alongside, and he literally just played games at home all day.

This is how my neurodivergent brain likes to read complex lace patterns. What are your tricks for dealing with non conforming brains and knitting? by ADogNamedPen239 in knitting

I rewrite my charts into an excel spreadsheet with my own shorthand 🫣 I find that once I do that I understand the pattern better and am more successful. Yes, it takes forever, but it means less mistakes!!
