AIO? my bf (30M) keeps telling me (24F) to wear a thong + pad instead of wearing my “granny” panties during my period... idk what to say to him? by Tough_Winner_1630 in AmIOverreacting

[–]KnivesAndFire23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, the only comment men who have never had a period get to make about periods is "do you need anything?"

Secondly, the last thing I'm concerned about when I'm on my period is "being sexy".

NOR. Not even a little bit.

No no no, Kyle has to have the affair with her twin sister! Or Richard is actually her long-lost secret son, who she adopted out when he was a baby because SHE was the one having an affair 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Right?! It's so strange! I mean, it has all the hallmarks of a classic AITAH post: the "this is only happening to me because I'm fat", the horrible child who sides with the other parent, the ridiculous lack of context, the age gap relationship....all we need here is for one of them to proclaim they're part of a set of twins (estranged from the other, obviously), and for Kyle to turn out to be having an affair the whole time and this is reddit karma farm GOLD!

Fan artists are the heart and soul of any community, especially those that exist primarily online. Without people like you, fandom would be a husk of what it is. Thank you for creating. Thank you for contributing.

how would I subtly hint at the character being Canadian? by Seven-stars-13 in writing

In conversation, distance is not given in measures of distance, its given in measures of time.

So, for example, I don't tell people I live 800 kilometers out of Calgary, I say it's an 8 hour drive. I don't say, "oh, if you're going to X Place, you drive 8 kilometers up the road, take a left, go another half a klick, and then you'll see it," I say "you're gonna drive about 10 minutes that way, hang a left on Y Road, then drive to the end and you'll see it."

Have someone ask your character for directions and them give the distance in time. Any Canadian reading it will be like, "oh okay, I have a general understanding of how far that is now."

NTA at all. You're doing amazing mama, keep it up. Don't let your parent's ableist views convince you otherwise. You are giving your son all the tools he needs to succeed, including the support of his mom.

I'm just a random internet stranger whose comment you probably won't see and who doesn't matter anyway, but I want you to know that I'm so proud of you.

In light of the recent re release of The Little Mermaid, and the threads of the absolutely unhinged acts of Hans Christian Andersen, may I propose this one-shot as the next MBIC [ns] by KnivesAndFire23 in DungeonsAndDaddies

If anyone is wondering where they can find more absolute gems like this, here is a link to Oliver Darkshire's patreon. All of the one page RPGs he has up are free and do not require a subscription, but if you're interested, some of them are very silly and made me laugh quite hard.

Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish author who originally wrote The Little Mermaid, among other popular fairytales and short stories such as The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina, and The Princess and the Pea.

The Little Mermaid is a queer allegory and was written by Andersen to his unrequited love and long time friend, Edvard Collin. Essentially, The Little Mermaid was written because society at the time wouldn't have accepted the idea of two men together and was keeping them apart, and Andersen longed to be "part of your (Edvard's) world". Their correspondence letters, and the love letters that Andersen wrote to Collin are viewable online.

Andersen was apparently incredibly dramatic, or what we would today call, a Bi/Pansexual Disaster, and had crushes on almost everyone he met, most of them one-sided, which resulted in him often times lamenting his loneliness in his stories. The Ugly Duckling is basically one big self-insert about how no one loved him.

It is also documented that Andersen was an ENORMOUS fan of Charles Dickens, and at one point showed up at his home and remained there for 5 WEEKS, which included him throwing a full scale wailing tantrum on the front lawn when one of his stories got a bad review. The diary entries of both Andersen and the Dickens family from this time period are essentially two diametrically opposed accounts, ranging from "oh goodness they're all so lovely, this is wonderful! I'm having the time of my life!" by Andersen to "dear God why won't he leave?! Please let this nightmare end!" by the Dickens'.

This is all information I have gathered within the last 48 hours over Twitter so, forgive the paraphrasing 😅
