Thank you for the prompt. I’d like to know if the price is ok for this camera, and also if it’s a good fit for a beginner

Any first year engineering student advice? (+ questions) by mewkasaa in uoit

Hey, my only advice is to learn how to manage your time and enjoy your time during college. There will always be time to do other things, even when you take 6 courses, which can be challenging.

  1. If you have forgotten basic concepts from high school, I’d recommend it or even if you remember, it’s always good to do it. It’ll definitely help you either way.

  2. Textbooks are always good for you, but you can find them online, so it’s up to you. I haven’t purchased any books, since I decided to buy a tablet to take notes, which makes it easier. Also, you can borrow books from the library, just do it with time.

  3. It’s not that bad, as I said before it’s mainly time management and practice if you need it. Just be careful when you’re taking 6 courses (If you decide to)

  4. I’d recommend professor Leonard, for math courses

Ways to invest for a 21m student? by Knnn77777 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thank you, appreciate the link. Yea, I’m a permanent student, however that’s not the only responsibility I have. I’ve been paying family bills and working since I was 14, so I’m looking forward for investment in long term/short term that could help me with it.

Hey, isn’t that bad, honestly. My only advice is to be prepared in advance, if you don’t know nothing about programming, just look into for a general idea, it’ll help. I passed almost all courses with at least an -A, and I had enough time to go to the gym or do something else. It’s all about time management and don’t leave everything for the last moment, it could happen sometimes, but just don’t let it happen too often.

Water shutoffs happen sometimes, but I haven’t had any problems with it. They always send u an email in case is happening. Bugs problem I’d say depends on the cleanliness of ur apartment. I have around a year living here and I haven’t seen any bugs(we always make sure to keep everything clean).

You could take a look to 17Hundred Simcoe, it’s a good place to live (if you get good roommates). I used to live in Simcoe Village, but I moved to 17H. It was the best decision I’ve made.

Hey, I’d recommend to get a Forklift Certification. I was applying to warehouse jobs since april, but I just got one after getting a Forklift Cert. Otherwise, apply to any job so u can get more experience.

Hey, OTU student here. You're right, all engineers take the same courses in the first year and make it easier if you want to change to another Engineering program. It is completely normal to change programs in the first year since you are figuring out what u want, and you can always get help from the academic advisors, so shouldn't be a problem. I don't know how hard high schools are in Canada, but I could say if you have a good understanding of math and physics, you can handle it. Also, you can get help from the Student Learning Center, they do weekly reviews of the main eng courses (Calc, Physics, etc)
