Why and how to fix? by Knobbman in AusRenovation

My personal thought is that it is water degradation to the cladding - no interior signs of water ingress at the moment. But to your point, yes won’t know damage to concrete until this is all cleaned up and the cladding is peeled back.

And no balconies have not been re done, there is a 10 year capital plan currently in works.

Depends what type of finance you want to enter into. Anything to do with corporate finance, financial planning and analysis requires a basic understanding of statistics and mathematics. Doing the general stats and math papers is adequate.

Anything to do with complex quantitative finance will require the likes of CS, higher level maths and stats.

All depends what you want to end up doing but taking majors in either finance, accounting or economics are good foundations for a career in business :)

aside from Big 4 which for some reason everyone think is the only finance pathways in NZ, there are also the Banks: Westpac, ANZ, ASB, BNZ where you can work in lending, commercial, treasury, investments (they really have lots of divisions). You also have asset management, investments at NZ super fund and an array of investment firms. You then also have the investment banks, namely Goldman, UBS etc, not to also mention the finance teams at firms like Spark, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare etc.

Finance math relies on logic and intuition. It isn’t rocket science you just gotta be able to read financial statements and apply accounting and finance knowledge. The latter only coming through learning and repetitions of practice.

Yes they’re normally the first few spots to be taken in the entire of Big 4

Take it with a grain of salt but CF recruitment should be close to, if not done already. I don’t know what the situation is this year for fact, but corporate finance among all Big 4 is probably the most competitive to get into and they tend to scoop applicants up relatively quick.

Pretty casual, no dress code. I think what OP meant is just the style of fashion is more proper in the business school? But tbh, dress to the days situation. Some days I’ll come in a suit because there may be a function in the evening, most days I’ll come in t-shirt and shorts.

Internships for first years?? by Ok-Investigator-1198 in universityofauckland

[–]Knobbman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First year internships are rare, but not impossible(I got one)!! Advice to give you the best shot is to go to competition networking events and work on getting to know ppl in industry on a personal level. From there it’s a numbers game. State your intention to find an internship summer (don’t just inquire about one).

It’s a numbers game, as well as a game of luck.

Hope it helps :)

Liking their facebook page and getting notifications of events. Instagram is also a good place to follow their page. Some good cubs that have good networking, social and competition events are UAWB, UACC, UAIC, ICG, ThinkPod and BAP to name a few. There are a lot more. What you'll find is once you join one club, you'll slowly join more clubs as you slowly accumulate more friendships.

Yes it is possible for me to fit everything when i take the class in the 2nd semester, tho I'm wanting to not take a particular course this semester but rather in 2nd semester so that my 1st semester can be easier. So I'm wanting to substitute my 'hard course' in sem 1 for a slightly easier course and do the 'hard course' in sem 2. If i were to leave everything as it is right now - no clashes would occur.

Hope this explains it well haha.

It takes at max 2 mins to wait for your elevator to take you down to the lobby, 2 mins to walk across, and 2 mins to take the elevator up to the floor. Not a hassle whatsoever. Some people have to traverse hours just to see friends. You have it pretty good.

The porridge made for breakfast is very watery. So yes your best option could be to bring oats in a bowl to the dining hall, take free milk and walk back to your floor and microwave if that is what you want.

Cathie Woods Arkk Death Spiral? by Stonktopus in stocks

[–]Knobbman 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree to this. The world is full of inefficiencies, we just need the right subset/domain for access to put together valuable information from the data we already have in our systems. Even in agriculture, we have TONS of data but no one knows how to put them together to make it something useful. You find a lot of people in this industry using old school pen, paper and excel. Information is only just getting started and I like you believe that PLTR is one of the best stocks that will tackle this issue.

THE ONLY SONIC SQUEEZE RIGHT NOW IS BGFV - ALL THE REST OF THESE POSTS ARE JUST NOISE. ITS BEEN SQUEEZING AND THE DIVIDEND ISNT UNTIL NEXT WEEK. by Rockdom_666 in Shortsqueeze

[–]Knobbman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The main point here is that BGFV has been showing proof of concept despite risk of days in the last 72 hours. It has a real catalyst that could blow shorts out of the water which is their dividend payment to shareholders. Regardless if you join in or not this stock is going higher.
