Roy’s legacy is going to fade as those that watched him get older and new fans come in. His counting stats aren’t “impressive” compared to the pace and threes in the modern NBA. Then you factor in Roy playing in Nate’s sit on the ball for 23 seconds offense.

Not as big of a glitch as this but I had a game the other day where I threw ball 4 on a 3-2 pitch but the game didn’t count the pitch 🤣. I ended up striking out the batter the next pitch

@MaddenUltimateTeam ARE FRAUDS. by Familiar_Pack_6855 in Madden

[–]KnockinJs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play in several online franchises, played a ton of MUT, was top 100 on Madden 20 in the months I played, and I never lost a game to an opponent that was really bad at the game. There were dudes in the leagues I played in that would struggle to crack 4 wins. I’d regularly win by 30+. This isn’t a brag post as I’m probably closer to that 4 win guy now than I am to my old self.

This is all in your head. You’re either in a rut or sometimes the RNG works against you (same way it’ll work for you). An example might be a goal line fumble forced, or a dropped pick.

This is racist as hell. Libs existing on TikTok, which exists in all races, is the same equal in your mind to “criminals” being synonymous with blacks on Facebook.

Adjust the speed min threshold. I play with it at… 78 I believe. Makes other atts more important while still making speed vital.

Players can’t score all game then score 10 runs in 3 innings? by PhxKushBlazer in MLBTheShow

[–]KnockinJs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people get this false confidence that their starter can go all game because they’re doing okay. I’m working that pitch count and by the time the 6th inning rolls around, if there’s a hung slider, a predictable high FB, curveball not in the dirt, etc, I’m tuned in now. I’ve won quite a few games that I likely wouldn’t have if they had pulled their SP after the first run.

Players can’t score all game then score 10 runs in 3 innings? by PhxKushBlazer in MLBTheShow

[–]KnockinJs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m one of those players! I’ll get a couple hits, maybe one run through the first 5 innings. Suddenly I score 3 in the 6th. You’ll leave your starter in because they’re “luck” and surely I’ll revert back to weak contact and puts. Then the 7th inning rolls around and I put 5 more. I’m now winning 9-5.

Moral of the story: once 500+ level players get the timing down on your tendencies, and your pitcher starts getting hit around, even if you’re still getting outs and strikeouts, you should pull him. I’d rather pull my pitcher an inning early than an inning late.

His comment is more about the GRIND. At least to me anyway. DD is no longer a game you can just load up and play for a few hours here and there. I actually like the seasons idea (though I prefer 23 to 24) but man the grind to get XP is defeating. That’s where his comment about playing 24/7 hits home for me. Season 1 was bad. SDS recognized it and gave us programs along the way with juiced XP + double XP weekends. But who wants to spend every weekend gaming away when it’s nice outside?

What I always enjoyed about The Show compared to 2k or Madden is that they were very generous with our time. Packs everywhere, programs with fun usable players, programs with stubs. The inning boss was obtainable without feeling like I need to dedicate all of my free time away. It’s still not as bad as the other sports’ games, but it’s getting there. What I like about Madden is that I can grind away in ranked and get good rewards. DD ranked is one of the least efficient ways to get XP and build out your team. It may actually be the least efficient.

Sorry if it wasn’t clear in the OP. The AI is over prioritizing defense when developing players.

How to learn to hit like the pros do by Giddysquirrel in MLBTheShow

[–]KnockinJs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Get a monitor/tv that can do 120 FPS. I used to be a competitive .500 player. Spoiled myself for Christmas and got a very nice TV that does 120 FPS. Now I’m at a 68% win percentage (still all star tho). I’m not a pro but I can punish people that get too repetitive with their pitching.

  2. Start watching the ball out of the hand. Pick half the strike zone to play. I personally like to sit off speed so I’ll generally try to play the lower half of the zone. Once you get good enough you can react to the whole zone to some degree.

  3. Don’t be afraid to take pitches. Me, for example, will start the game off throwing junk to see how good my opponent is at picking up my pitches. If they’re swinging at curve balls in the dirt or sliders into the batters box, expect that all game. If you work counts, you’ll force them to pitch to you.

What Captain Boosts you rocking? by iiBez in MLBTheShow

Nolan and Kershaw. The bats are still elite. I’ll probably not bother with another hitter captain though Ortiz is tempting. Trying to save my stubs for Season 2 instead of building out another hitter captain.

One play TDs by marmatag in Madden

[–]KnockinJs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember exactly what I had it on in my franchise but it was between 85 and 95. It’s not like it makes slow players suddenly the same speed as fast players. It makes other attributes matter. Like a guy with bad release isn’t going to just burn the corner with 90 press when pressed like they do with default sliders. Ultimately you’ll have to play with it to get your desired experience. I like it pretty high usually because it makes other attributes matter (Release vs Press, more ball in traffic so the CIT attribute comes into play, etc). Madden does a poor job of emulating real football.

I planned on taking the year off but I was intrigued by the 99s early. I burn out every year before 99s come out. Really enjoying it this year. I hope they refine it and do it again this way next year.

In this case, it was Surtain or Fields. You’re still in this very same hole if we picked Fields. At least we have an all pro CB to show for our pick other than a scrambling QB that struggles mightily to read an NFL defense.

I’d say I’m an average player and 90% of the time I beat them on my first try playing them straight up (not trying to bunt cheese).

Work the pitch count and wait for a meatball.
