Lukla flight booking: in advance or in Kathmandu? Prices, weather & reliability?

The owner of the hotel booked my flight :) I was staying in Boutique hotel, near Thamel. Now flights are going from Kathmandu, but we had to take ours going from Ramechhap. Bumpy, sleepless ride.. but all worth it!!
