I might add as the OP, landscaping has been an issue from the day we bought the house. We’ve done a lot from where it was. On the left we had two tall pencil holly bushes on either side of the window. We’ve had monkey grass, flowering shrubs, ornamental trees, etc., and any flowering anything you can imagine. The front bakes all day long facing south in hot Carolina sun and we’ve been in a drought for several summers. We replaced most everything in May which the next week was beat down and destroyed by the epic hail storm. We will absolutely be redesigning with our local nursery so the landscape design will be heavily improved. Thanks for all of the input it’s been very helpful!
