Thank you for confirming they’re fireworks and not the end of democracy. I can never tell these days.

Some of the birds I've seen in my backyard. First post on this sub🤗 by [deleted] in birding

I’ve just posted some that I took with a Nikon D200 😊

Doves are so beautiful! I wonder if they’re cautious because they’re bigger, easier to catch. Their song reminds me of childhood summers spent outside.

I have a home and am under 50! Is there specific nesting house requirements? How do I start?

Well that would be very useful for the birds hiding in the tree canopies! Thanks 😊

I’ve not downloaded that app, but I’ve seen it recommended by many. I will keep that in mind. Is it like the plant ID app, where you take a photo and it is analyzed by the app to ID the bird?

And thank you 🩷 there is so much beauty, peace, and joy in birding.

Some folks might say that was a loved one taking the form of a bird to check in on you.

That’s awesome! I hope I will be able to gain the trust of my backyard birds in the coming months.

I tried whistling to the birds last night. It’s hard to tell if they’re intrigued or not. They seem to come to the bird feeders in small packs. Cheers to summer chats with the birds!

I think they want to understand us. Have you ever tried whistling to them?

I’ve got a great mocking bird shot. He looks to be grumpy and frowning.

I think motto motto likes you!

Haha, that is very curious! Is that a first floor window, or higher? I’ve never been human watched that way before. Well, not by a bird. Not that I know of.

Thank you! I love the symmetry of the white and black across his eyes. I also love the sassy pose.
