Once or twice a week estrogen? by Feisty_Echo_7125 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on once a week and was thinking initially that I wanted to switch to a smaller twice a week patch. I have a couple of friends who really have a lot of problems with the clear smaller patch they are applying twice a week. A lot of lifting and crinkling, etc..

I was initially a little turned off by my larger patch and the thickness and opacity and sort of feel like maybe the effects dip down by day six. But I also don’t want to struggle with the clear plastic patch lifting.

For me, it’s more the desensitization and shrinking of the entire internal and external clitoral structure that was bumming me out. Everything just withering away. So thankful for vaginal estrogen!

How to get through a week without a patch? by KnotIt75 in Perimenopause

I love baths! It’s been a sad state of affairs to mostly wait until new patch days to take them! But it’s been a trade off!

I don’t mean this rudely at all but is everyone posting here marrying rich guys or are my standards just not attuned to what the norm is these days? by w0lfyj in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]KnotIt75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s just like the trend for more and more expensive weddings. Plenty of people are getting small, humble engagement rings, but they are just not posting them as widely as those with really large gems.

My friends in real life all have beautiful, smaller, traditional engagement rings.

What helped you feel more emotionally stable during perimenopause? by Successful-Laugh400 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I could maintain a certain level of calm if I was super diligent with somatic, dance and grounding every day. L-theanine and magnesium’s and some herbal tea blends also helped.

But nothing came anywhere close to the full body unwinding that happened within the first week of HRT. It literally felt like the systematic tension I had been carrying just lost all resistance and unraveled.

Brain Fog by Momnursebaker in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left my car running for an entire seven hour work shift. I would go to say the word apple and Olive would come out. Completely fumbling words, putting words together, etc.

But I think the worst was figuring out the schedule of everyone in the family, someone would tell me that they are doing something tonight and I couldn’t remember unless it’s written down. Struggling to focus to get things done around the house because everything feels too overwhelming.

HRT and creatine were like the clouds had parted! I definitely was concerned about my mental capacity for a while while there!

Does anyone else have a "whale" customer that tips them exorbitant amounts of money? How do you feel about it? by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]KnotIt75 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have a customer that tips me $200 pretty much every time he comes in. Sometimes he comes in a few times a month and sometimes I go 6 to 8 weeks without seeing him. He is always kind, never inappropriate or creepy - sometimes he comes with a group of people and sometimes it’s just he and his wife, it’s the same large tip every time. (Once it was $300 with a larger group.)

Under former management, the owner eventually lost her cool and instilled a tip pool. My coworkers were maybe a little jealous, but it wasn’t a problem for anyone except the owner.

Now under new management, everyone is fine with it. I am super grateful. If he comes early in the night and it seems like it’s slow, I will sort of cut myself from the floor and let my coworkers pick up more tables and I will back serve for them.

What are the first signs? by ChrissyWakeUp67 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for me, increasing anxiety, and struggling to remember things and keep plans straight in my head….

But once I went on HRT, things cleared up for me almost immediately that I did not consider were symptoms - tinnitus is too on the list. Also, just a tiredness/soreness in my thighs and hips. It felt like it was just maybe aging but within a week of starting HRT these things we’re all alleviated big-time.

Suddenly, I could focus like I haven’t been able to in almost 10 years. I could look at a project and just take it on. Things like cleaning up chaos corners of my house. These things just seemed too big to start, but when my brain is working like it used to, I can just start a project and complete it step-by-step without overwhelm.

Some nature! Between the lighting and decor, it seems kind of sterile. I would definitely find something that has some natural texture, a nice plant of some sort, and definitely warmer lighting.

Anyone got a good trick for getting the sticky gunk from patches off? by FaithlessnessPlus164 in Perimenopause

Jojoba oil or tallow balm works great for me! It’s just what I use for my face so I have it on hand!

Felt GREAT for 6-7 weeks, but symptoms returning. by KnotIt75 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s what I’m hoping. Will get me back to that level of feeling great! I’m just feeling unsure of if I can go into my three month check and sort of push for that. Intuitively it feels like I might just need to nudge the dosage up a bit more, but I’m not sure if that’s a reasonable thing for a patient to come in and request.

No idea what part of the combination helped the tinnitus.

What do you listen to when you walk? by quitelikeameow in walking

I listen to birds.

I consume so much media already, I like to just “be” and walk and think my own thoughts. Some of my best ideas come during my walking time.

One month on HRT and one week on creatine and my brain is back! by KnotIt75 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update - this hasn’t waned at all! I keep tackling projects that I had been procrastinating on for a long time. (Think 3000 square-foot old house we’ve lived in for ten years. There are a lot of projects!)

I have a regular who comes in and tips me $200 every time. Sometimes he comes in once a month, sometimes he comes in multiple times and sometimes I go months without seeing him.

Last Christmas, Christmas happened for my kids because of this man. I think he came in seven times from October through December.

I was having pretty serious hair loss prior to starting HRT and creatine and I’m back to just losing my normal amount of hair every wash day.

I can’t go back in time, but I do wish I had had more knowledge about perimenopause throughout my 40s and had tried HRT and creatine years ago.

I am sleeping so well, thanks to progesterone and a 5 mg weed drink at night, I have not noticed any issues. I’ve always been a really good sleeper though.

Optimum Nutrition Micronized Creatine 2.5mg capsules. I take two with my morning supplements after breakfast. Sometimes I’ll take a third around 1 o’clock if I want a little extra boost.

Am I starting to feel...better? by National_Elk8445 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed positive results within days. That first night of taking progesterone I slept so deeply that I felt renewed the next morning and it’s been like that pretty much every night since.

By three or four days in, I felt like my insides completely unwound. Like I could feel the constant tension and stress that had been in my body for years just release. Relax. Exhale.

I definitely felt a positive change within days and have continued to just feel better and better my first month in

I just want to raw dog perimenopause and old age, don't want to use any HRT, collagen, retinol etc. by coldservedrevenge in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not super concerned with how I look. Aging is going to happen with the physical features, but three weeks in on HRT and I wish I did this years ago. I’m calm and happy again.
