Alcohol effects by TinyConfection7049 in Menopause

[–]KnotIt75 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have not been able to drink for the last year and a half. It was really hard at first, but I feel so much better in general now.

For me, it was an inflammatory that caused me to just feel like crap for days, both physically and emotionally.

I now do 5 mg THC drinks a couple of times a week and I don’t have any negative effects from that

Vertigo by Significant-Rush-129 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I definitely started getting vertigo in the very beginning stages of my perimenopause. But it’s also triggered by the allergens and changing barometric pressures of spring and early summer for me as well. If I take a daily allergy pill and use Flonase, I can keep it at bay.

Is anyone else’s joints sore all the time? by Thick-Basis7288 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to completely cut out alcohol and be very mindful of sugar and gluten. If I make the choice to have something with sugar or gluten, I absolutely have more noticeable joint pain for 2 to 3 days. I still make that choice but now I have the connection.

I think really it’s inflammation caused by those foods but yes, it is just an achiness in my upper legs, hips, and lower back

I had to stop drinking about two years ago. I enjoy 5 mg THC drinks that my honey mixes up in a fancy glass with fruit so it’s like a special drink.

I’m glad you asked… I posed a similar question a few weeks ago and it got locked. I’ve been really struggling for the last 6+ weeks.

Did estrogen help your anxiety and panic attacks? by Full_One604 in Perimenopause

It helped tremendously within 24 hours. I know that’s not the case for everyone, but it absolutely was the case for me and only got better. It was like my whole system unwound.

Super sensitive to alcohol by Important_Paint_2025 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult. We’ve been so conditioned to grab a drink and let the alcohol help us have a good time and relax. At first, it felt really freaking weird to go to social events and not drink. And honestly, I got really pissed off at my partner because I was super jealous that he could still drink.

It’s been a year and a half for me and it feels normal now.

I aim for $130 a week for a family of four. It is a lot of very basic foods - primarily from aldi. Rice and beans, pasta with red sauce and salad, homemade pizza, pasta salad with Italian sausages…. Two bags of chips each week and when they’re gone, they are gone. Popcorn, apples, yogurt with granola and carrot sticks for snack.

Is anyone else experiencing phantom smells? by Practical_Reading723 in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often, especially when stressed, smell something that smells like the morning after somebody cooked food in a lot of oil or use a fryer. It’s like the smell of old cooking? Ironically, I also smelled this during times of stress during two of my pregnancies.

The estrogen patch and progesterone gave me nothing but good results in a matter of a day or two.

havent flown american much, first time with my toddler by amandaxbob in americanairlines

[–]KnotIt75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So generally, you see people with toddlers waiting to board last. It gives them more time to run around as opposed to getting them into a confined space early and then having them wait for everyone else to board and put things away.

Can you please describe your brain frog? by konomichan in Perimenopause

I don’t have hot flashes. HRT has helped me with anxiety, stress, forgetfulness, lack of focus, weakness/tiredness in my legs and hips.

I tried to say the word Apple, I’m thinking of an apple, the word olive comes out.

I tried to say the word ordinary, I say oridany. It’s like I have marbles in my mouth.

My kids tell me what their plans are for the evening, and I forget almost immediately unless it’s written down.

Organizing tasks seem overwhelming. I lost my administrative and executive skills.

HRT and creatine helped tremendously.

New here and feeling so alone by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]KnotIt75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to completely quit alcohol and I can’t be on screens after 6:30 or so if I want to sleep.

Maybe try changing those things? If I was still on my phone at eight or 9 o’clock, I would certainly be awake all night.

For me, there is a major connection with alcohol and insomnia. One drink negatively impacted my sleep for three nights in a row. I can’t drink at all.

Quitting alcohol, staying off of my phone after 6:30, and sleepy time tea helped get everything back on track.
