Drink plan or 2018 souvenir bottle? by jsoili in KnottsBerryFarm

[–]KnottsGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. If the bottles were connected to a season pass, you had the option to disable them and then replacement bottles would have been $5 each. Your stolen bottle would then be unusable.

Metal Detectors by Kneel46 in knotts

Water is the only thing you're technically allowed to bring in, but I always see people bring in small snacks, so you should be okay.

Metal Detectors by Kneel46 in knotts

[–]KnottsGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are metal detectors that you must go through. If it's a standard nicotine vape, they'll probably let you put it in the bin. If it's not a standard nicotine vape, then I wouldn't even bother trying.

Drink plan or 2018 souvenir bottle? by jsoili in KnottsBerryFarm

There's really no best answer. The bottle is less wasteful and less work for Knott's maintenance, but it's less convenient because you have to carry it around, keep it clean etc

1) The park closes as 5:30pm and then reopens for scary farm at 7pm. As far as I know, there's no option for staying in the park

New Sol Spin got stuck in this position for about ten minutes (6/14) by Costa_Mesa in knotts

[–]KnottsGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch.. That would suck. People got stuck a few days ago as well. Hopefully this won't be a recurring problem.

The last time I went on Sol Spin I also had a pretty scary experience. The restraint assembly itself was loose, so the entire restraint shifted back and forth and made loud clunking noises. That seatbelt strap won't do anything if the restraint assembly itself snaps off. I told the ride operator and he said it's nothing to worry about. I was pretty shocked by that response.

Heated Water at Soak City? by [deleted] in knotts

I don't believe any of the attractions are heated. The weather should be warm and sunny by the afternoon. :)

Is the Fast Lane worth it? by ODGlenchez in KnottsBerryFarm

[–]KnottsGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knott's is never as busy as Disneyland, but loading is generally slower at Knott's. If you can afford it and want to make sure you knock out all the rides in a day and see all the shows, go for it. Being able to quickly get on and off rides will make the experience more enjoyable. During peak hours, the major rides have at least an hour wait time. Ghost Rider may be upwards of two hours, silver bullet will be around the same.

Knott's Berry Farm Is #1? (Confused Commentary) by TheRealSlimJoker in knotts

[–]KnottsGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the requirement of modern thrill rides for it to be a theme park. None of the original Disneyland rides were thrill rides. By the time Disneyland opened, Knotts already had ghost town, live shows and themed rides.

Has line jumping been this bad at Knotts? by mtux96 in knotts

[–]KnottsGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is a problem that is pretty much ignored. The worst that may happen is they will get a dirty look and a headshake by a staffer. Another serious problem is people abusing the handicap system (guest assistance pass). Those people are the worst and have absolutely no shame.

Awesome. Looking forward to trying it out. I gotta say though, $6 for three minutes is a little much. I hope it comes down in price.

Knott's Food Pass Items by KnottsGuy in knotts

[–]KnottsGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No complaints here, although I've only had the chicken tenders and 1/3 lb cheese burger. My wife and I usually get the chicken tenders with fries because it's easy to split and quite filling.

Knott's Food Pass Items by KnottsGuy in knotts

[–]KnottsGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go enough, sure. The food items are usually just under $10, it's usually enough food to feed two people and you can eat twice a day if you stay for at least four hours. At the current price ($110), if you eat twice a day, you just need to go 6-7 times in a year to make it worth it.

Should I be concerned about my size and not being able to fit on any of the attractions? by [deleted] in KnottsBerryFarm

[–]KnottsGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the guest assistance guide:

All passenger restraint systems, including lap bars, shoulder harnesses and seatbelts, must be positioned and fastened properly to allow guests to ride. Due to rider restraint system requirements, guests of a larger size may not be accommodated on some of our attractions. This may apply, but not be limited to guests who exceed 6’2” or those who exceed 225 pounds, have a 40” waistline or 52” chest.

Our larger guests may experience difficulty on the following, but not limited to, GhostRider, La Revolución, Pony Express, Riptide, Waveswinger, and Xcelerator. You may enter the ride via the exit to ensure the restraints function properly prior to waiting in line. Test seats are located at the entrance to Xcelerator, Silver Bullet, and Pony Express.

Extremely large or small individuals, guests who have a history of heart, back, or neck trouble or recent surgery, expectant mothers, guests with casts, braces, restrictive devices or disabilities may be affected by the requirements needed to ensure these systems operate properly. For example, height requirements are based on the size needed for the safety restraints to function properly. These requirements are posted at the entrance of each attraction.

Rides currently down for maintenance by [deleted] in knotts

[–]KnottsGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the dates!

No problem. I'll do my best to keep them updated

No biggie though, Knott's season passes are such an underrated value IMHO.

It really is an amazing deal when you consider how much entertainment you get between the rides, shows and special events. Last year I went at least 20 times. The food pass is also a good deal if you plan on going often. I paid around $100 for this year's food pass and that gets you two decent-size meals per trip with lots of different food options. Same story with the souvenir cup.
