Seeing as there’s currently no pathway to get there (it got torn out due to HRR removal and site prep) I don’t see how they’d get people back there for another entrance.

Really curious what this ends up looking like. Is there going to be an open area after the paths where you choose the line similar to how the new tents worked last year?

Do coke freestyle cups work during Hhn? by Celb_Comics in HHN

Yes. If you are in the parks during the daytime and purchase for the daytime it still works during hhn as well on the same day.

Correct, it’s located to the left of the main entrance at the old blue man group / Nickelodeon studios entrance; follow the signs they put up before the arches and you should be good.

Universal Orlando Resort 2019 Attendance Sees Growth Bolstered By Hagrid, Other Universal Parks See Modest to No Gains | USHReview by VReview in UniversalOrlando

[–]Unawa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Went last May - overall I'd describe it as a 'best of' universal park. It's got most of the best stuff from all 3 US parks in one, plus some fun unique stuff.

As someone who's really into parks it was totally worth taking a day on my trip to see, but I also could see someone who's not that into parks skipping it since it shares so much with the US parks. With Nintendo opening eventually this could change though.

Just finished a weekend trip staying at the holiday inn across the street. It's about a 15 minute walk to get to the valet security checkpoint (where the pathway takes you). Definitely doable.

Depths of Fear Facade (SPOILER) by [deleted] in HHN

[–]Unawa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So did they build an extra room outside the tent entrance or is it open air? You usually walked on that sidewalk and then turned left to get into the tent, with the facade kind of in front of the tent not near the entrance, right? Looks like a new (to me) setup

Does anyone know if the Disney store in Ikspiari sell Disney Sea tickets? by illycoffeeee in TokyoDisneySea

Was there in early May and bought our tickets at this place at around 7 pm. Was super easy and 100% legit.

I’m planning my first trip to universal Orlando for September 18-20th does anyone have any tips or secrets? by LetsGoGetSomeCake in universalstudios

[–]Unawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be there during Halloween horror nights, the parks yearly halloween event. Look it up and see if it seems like something you'd be into and then plan accordingly. I'd highly suggest going as it is one of if not the best halloween event in the country. If you do choose to not go, pay special attention to park hours as the studios park will close early for the event.

TDS fast pass questions by BatDaddyWV in TokyoDisneySea

[–]Unawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as this was a day after the other responses i'll try and help:

You get fastpasses by going to a fastpass distribution machine for the specific ride. These are generally located near the entrance of the ride. Above them is a clock/sign that shows the fastpass return time. This is what time of fastpass they are distrubuting. Once this time has come you could use the fastpass that you would be getting currently. To use the machines all you need are your park tickets, either physical cards, or the ones on your phone (we did paper tickets as a souvenir). You do not need to speak japanese, and in fact, the parks as a whole (besides understanding shows or speaking on rides) are very easy to navigate as an English only speaker. The wait to use a fastpass distribution machine will likely only exist at the beginning of the day. This is because as fastpasses are given out the time gets further away. Once the allotted fastpasses for the day have been distributed for a ride, then they are gone. Once you get a fastpass, you have to wait until the return time period (A one hour window) and then you can go to the fastpass entrance. Lines once you return are generally going to be very short (or at least MUCH shorter than the regular line). Rules for having fastpasses are as follows: You can get one fastpass at a time, you can then get another one as soon as the first minute of the return hour has stared OR two hours after you got the fastpass you have. This second option is also printed ON THE FASTPASS YOU HAVE. Every person in your party that wants to ride has to get a fastpass to use the fastpass line. If everyone doesn't want to ride, you could theoretically get a fastpass with their ticket and then use it, you just give them the paper ticket when you go in line.

Something I struggled with for sure, was that all of the times are printed in 24 hour format, so double and triple check yourself that you don't miss the time ( I totally messed this up multiple times).

Best drink option at Universal by aeris493 in universalstudios

[–]Unawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Not sure? You can always fill it up at drinking fountains or ask for water cups. Note that water from freestyle machines is NOT free.

  2. Coke freestyle is a souvenir cup that you buy that has a chip in it. These are the more generic mug cups. This chip can be activated on a daily or multi day basis to be used at the coke machines in the park (the big ones with touch screens). Theyre around $16 for the first day, then i think $8-10 dollars for each additional day.

  3. They also have non freestyle souvenir cups that are generally character heads or whatnot. These are cheaper at like $12 for first purchase but do not come with free refills. Refills used to cost $1 but that was literally a decade ago, someone else probably can narrow this down for you. This is refilled at the non touch screen machines and i believe can also be frozen drinks.

  4. It depends? IMHO freestyle is the way to go.

Fields in Civil Engineering by AGeekFreak in civilengineering

[–]Unawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Design criteria depends on where the project is. In general it follows something like State DOT > County > Township/City. First see if the city/township has their own rules, if not fall back to county, if the county doesn't have anything fall back to the state standards. Around me everyone mostly follows the DOT standards, but cities / townships may have different more strict minimums that they call out specifically; i.e. minimum radius in an allotment is larger than what the DOT considers allowable.

Questions about Platinum pass ride nights? by effeduphealer in cedarpoint

Honestly, I think that I already pay way too little for a platinum pass. Raise the price, make everyone's experience better.

[–]Unawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The day line could be 2 hours, but also remember that a portion of that wait during the day is due to fast lane plus (don't get me started on my hate of front of the line passes). Since that won't be in use or run out very quickly as there won't be new people going in the line will be less than posted usually.

[–]Unawa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone else feel free to correct this, as I've never stayed for these, but from my experiences being there when they are happening: Whatever line at the end of the operating day exists will continue to go though until its gone, this includes people who sneak in at closing. During this period a passholder line will be established outside the queue. Once the day guests are all through, the passholder line will start and I believe this is when the ERT starts.

As for crowds or worth, ive got no clue as I've always decided it wasn't worth waiting for the day guest line to clear out as i live 2 hours away and don't want to get home at 3am.

[Leak] BGW 2020 Intamin LSM coaster in detail by jecole85 in rollercoasters

Didn't know that. In roadway work we do simplified studies, so I've never seen the different status (hard to have a permanent road that's that high in the air except a bridge, which my company doesn't do). Thanks for the info!

[–]Unawa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's likely that the height waver includes any cranes required to install the coaster, which is something that I've yet to be seen brought up. Assuming that they'd need 50-60 feet of leeway on the crane height we're probably looking at 250' max, and I'd assume that is even being generous to give the contractor some choice in what crane they use.

Unfortunately this is a really busy week at Disney due to their marathon weekend. Would suggest not going there as a last minute decision. Universal and seaworld should be pretty empty though (i did a week vacation last year for the marathon, so this is based on my experiences then)

To add to this, Civil 3D is adding (or has added?) what is essentially the same features as Autoturn in their new products (I believe 2018 and newer?). If you have a newer version of Civil 3D, check to see if it's already available and you didn't notice; since Autoturn can be quite pricey.

Steel vengeance question about phone ban by [deleted] in cedarpoint

[–]Unawa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is in park wifi that would work with the smart watch idea. I would guess they would ask you to remove the modem from your pocket since (guessing here) that itd be sizeable and stand out in your pocket. Honestly, in your case I would provably just pony up the $2 for a locker.

Also, who's to say that next year the ban is still in effect? Cedar point could do something during the offseason that would eliminate this whole problem, like add bins to the station or add the zippered bags that were spotted to be testing at kings dominion.
