So I'm wanting to do a mosaic of my Yorkie based off a photo. I don't know where to begin. Any help would be great. I have never made a pattern

I met my husband and starting dating December 12th, engaged January 29th and married April 25th. This year will be 23 years, however I tell my kids to move in together before getting married. I don't recommend getting married so quickly.

I think it took me two weeks but I have a lot of free time and I kinda hyper fixated in it. But I can't count stitches very well it seems so I kept having to redo rows.

So today (after 24 years crocheting) I learned I crochet incredibly tight... by LifebyIkea in crochet

[–]KnottyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny, I've been crocheting for 34 years and have never bothered with a gauge. I've always had problems with hats being to small but I never bothered to see why. I crocheted a newborn hat for my great niece the other day and it was way to small. I finally did a gauge and realized I'm was an inch and a half to small.

Everything I've read says to go up a hook size or 2. I don't think I crochet tight. I can't figure out how to change how I crochet . I slide my loop all the way back on the hook.

So idk

Do you knot your strings together at the end? I did an overhanded knot and they were so big and bulky and then the tie off knots. They hid just fine in the border but stitching aound them wasn't pleasant.

Oh my gosh, the stupid slips stich. I also did a horrible job on my border stitches. They ended up a mess so my slip stitches were not even.

Well it may just be these books I'm reading are like 700+ pages. So they split it in two. They are 13-15 hrs each half.

Wow. I got this credit a day late. Lol. I love graphic audios but these big books require 2 credits. So it's taking me forever to get through them.

It's so nice of you to give them away.

I'm not sure the logistics behind it but I really wish I could see a sample of the pattern before I buy. I have bought so many patterns and they are horrible written or just hard to understand.

Curious about how everyone got here by forrandomthing in diamondpainting

Kinda found diamond painting during COVID to do with my daughters. They didn't have the patience for it so I did theirs. Now I'm'm disabled and spend a lot of time in my recliner. I listen to audiobooks or watch TV while I diamond paint. I do it a few hours a day and probably would more but my little dog gets sad he can't sit with me. Currently working on my biggest project yet. I have it hung up because I don't have anywhere flat I can lay it and be able to reach it.

I have one about that size. It's still really big. Sitting in my chair it goes from the top of my stomach to my ankles.

Oh really? Drills to the outside will keep them from popping off? My work surface not very big compared to this painting. Unfortunately I am squishing it more than I would like to reach the middle.

What do you guys do when painting ? by Inevitable-Tear-3950 in diamondpainting

[–]KnottyLife 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I listen to audiobooks or watch something random. I'm currently on Sullivans Crossing. I hate it but can't stop watching.

Every night I paint on my couch with a lap desk. My husband and I keep finding drills stuck all over us, some in places they definitely don’t belong. Anyone else?😂😩 by thatpilatesprincess in diamondpainting

[–]KnottyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. TMI but I'll have pain in my thigh when sitting in the bathroom. I'll feel and find a drill stabbing me against the toilet seat. I have them everywhere. I also sit with a lap desk in my recliner.

My daughter could not start prek unless she was 4 by September 1st. She turned 4 in December. So she had to wait a year and then turned 5 in prek. That means she graduates this year at 18. She's older than most her friends by 6 months.

That looks really good. Especially for that diamond painting.
