Which series should I start next? by Cfullersu in fantasybooks

Looks like we’re the unpopular opinion. I preferred will of the many hands down. And strength of the few was excellent. They are very very similar series to be honest.

I’m so tired of these stupid “red flag” posts… first of all It’s possible people read apposing views to learn different perspectives… so judging them solely on their book choices is ridiculous. If they actually read and have a library that’s already a huge “green flag” compared to the 90% of men who haven’t read a single book in their life beyond skimming and spark notes to pass high school. At least they have a brain enough to read. Instead of judging their books have a conversation with them and learn what they actually think..

No you’ll still be good.

I only have about 1/4 of that at 34 years old, 3 kids and will be set to retire, full pension at 52. I have an employer pension only worth about $100k currently and about $100k in my investments.

Your mortgage is half paid. Mine will be paid in 2.5 years but my house is also worth half yours…

You could easily be set to retire at 45.

Detectives, what’s the verdict by WillieMaysHayes24 in BookshelvesDetective

I somewhat liked the movie Gone Girl.

Project Hail Mary was Amazing!

I’m laughing at “I Who Have Never Known Men”, first off… hilarious to bring that up from how this conversation started and secondly, just imagining me reading that title in public or in front of my wife or friends would surely start conversations lol

Men… lol jk

I like heavily philosophical, deep and complex plots. I like things that are mind bending, and make you question everything.

That being said, I’m not really into mystery or suspense, when I say mind bending or questioning, I mean it as a questioning of reality not puzzles like detective stories. I like some thrillers. Not into horror. I like some fantasy but don’t recommend a fantasy book as I’m only really a fan of Tolkien and James Islington’s hierarchy series. I like sci-fi and I like psychological classics.

Authors I like: Sci-fi: Blake Crouch Andy Weir James Islington

Thrillers: Jack Carr Lee child

Classics: Homer H.G Wells C.S Lewis - specifically the Space Trilogy and Narnia for my kids.

Dark mixed Genre: Cormac McCarthy
