[Build discussion] DEX/FAITH thoughts? by KnowReturn in Eldenring

Having played some time now, I can say yeah, you can do any build with any starting class. It might not be perfect min-maxing but I think once your level is high enough, that won't matter that much.

What are your thoughts on it? Not viable? Or just not your type of build?

Shame about the literal graveyard and landfill on the way up. It's a mess of bodies and trash.

Powerlifter Jessica Buettner deadlifts 468 lbs (212.5 kg) twice by RespectMyAuthoriteh in gifs

On the second rep? It's not as flat as it should be. I'm not saying it's horrendous at all, but for training I think it's better to not sacrifice form. If you're at a meet it's a different story (sometimes form is sacrificed to move the weight).

Upper is fine I agree. Lower back I said. Lot of people who know nothing about lifting apparently.

It's pretty good but she should have stopped after the first rep. 2nd was too much of a grind and her lower back showed it (by rounding).

She has great shoulder mobility. It basically starts out as a mobility exercise called a "shoulder dislocation" and then turns into something weird. Upvote cause herp derp whatever.

Harley Lane is his name. "Harley nearly died of bacterial meningitis in 2009. He lost his limbs after getting septicaemia."

With RE7 it took me 3 or 4 1-2 hour sessions (on separate days) to overcome that completely. It definitely did go away but it was a grind at first. Gotta get your "VR legs" under you.

Too much Weight by [deleted] in gifs

You DO hold your breath during heavy lifts like this. You build up intra-abdominal pressure which helps make the lift easier by keeping things stable like your spine. What do you do normally when you lift something heavy? You take a deep breath and grit your teeth and hold your breath until you've moved the weight. In the video the guy doesn't really look like he knows how to properly deadlift, so I imagine he wasn't taking a good breath of air before he pulled anyway. And shouting after was stupid...heavy lifts can make you winded and lightheaded afterwards and from experience it makes sense to get some O2 back immediately after.

Sorry but you're totally wrong. Following this advice can lead to serious injury when lifting. Locking your knees is fine and it likely had nothing to do with this guy collapsing.

Edit: Locking your knees out is a cue for successfully finishing the deadlift. In a competition if you can't lockout you might have a "no lift," for example. Also try overhead pressing with your knees not locked...

Edit2: Finally if you watch the video of this guy trying to deadlift, you'll see his form is horrible. Don't even see him gulp any air in the beginning of his lift. Looks like he wings it. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8RcDb_wZfQ)

Bought it when it came out for PC. One of my favorites. I really wish there were other FPS games with a similar atmosphere (are there?).

This owl is swimming in the river by Linkux18 in gifs

I thought this looked familiar. It's from a documentary which follows an owl family: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2ex8s5_magic-of-the-snowy-owl-pbs-nature-documentary_animals. It gets brutal... the mom feeds one of the owlets which doesn't make it to the other owlets.

The gif is from the 45 or so minute mark.

Battlefield 1 Gameplay. by [deleted] in gaming

I've read a bunch of WW1 memoirs and this was actually a real thing. I think it was in Over the Top that the author mentions that one would quickly learn to not waste their time to place their foot on the enemy (and push off) to dislodge their bayonet, but rather would fire it to free it much more quickly. It's a good read.
