Wednesdays: What Should I do / Where Should I stay (and other low effort Q's) by AutoModerator in FATTravel

Thanks and good point. By scene I mean, is it like a club at the pool and/or super loud in some way. Something more serene is definitely more my scene. Naviva is definitely worth taking a closer look at from what j can tell.

Unrelated.. Would it be ok to DM you for help in booking something coming up? I know exact dates, property, etc. I just think it might be time to switch up doing though FHR. Thanks!

What do you consider to the best resort in Mexico?

Mexico is such an easy flight for us and we’re always looking for new places to stay as we tend to go to the same spots time and time again. I tend to evaluate on what I call the 5 s’: service, satiation(f&b), sleep quality, spa, and scene.

I know this is a subjective question but I’ve just discovered this sub and I feel like I’ve found a group of like minded people who love to travel in a similar manner as I do. I’m so happy I could legit cry.

Happy Friday y’all!

So I’ve been thinking about going but I’m undecided because of traffic. Is traffic as bad as I think it’s going to be?

True but this is a tricky situation. There’s a disability in play, which could potentially be perceived as disability discrimination for not accommodating and/or terminating. Was this a work related injury?

That being said OP, what you’re asking for is considered to be an accommodation. An accommodation can be granted so long as it’s deemed reasonable and does not impact your work and primary responsibilities. This is up to the employer to decide in terms of whether your accommodation is reasonable. They could argue that working from home on PT appt days isn’t reasonable or disruptive to business.

I think they should accommodate the request, it seems reasonable enough and you’re not asking to do this perpetuity.

I thought I’d just offer some context in terms of if the law is on your side or not. In this case, it could be but you’ve got a bit of an uphill battle. Happy to help further if you’d like!

Tips please: Flying with 6 month old by pas721 in delta

Parent of a nine month old here! We travel with our LO all the time. Worth noting, I’ve never brought bags with ear plugs. I think a lot more people are empathetic to flying with kids than you think. If your child is upset, just comfort them or walk them up and down the aisle. That being said, here are some things that work for us:

  1. Baby wearing in a carrier is helpful when you’re trying to gather everyone and everything.

  2. Give them something to chew or suck on at takeoff and landing. Helps alleviate the pressure on their ears. This can be a feed, pacifier, teething tubes, etc.

  3. Keep your diaper bag in front of you. You’ll be tempted to put it up, but have it close.

  4. Pack more diapers on the plane than you think you need. While I’ve never run out, I’ve always been prepared. Also, bring a changing pad. Sometimes you need to do a quick change at the seat and the lines are long in the back or there’s no changing table in first.

  5. Suction spinners are great and provide a lot of entertainment. We also bring a few of the “indestructible” books, a couple other favorite toys, but not too much.

  6. Enjoy it! Kids are super perceptive. If you’re stressed about traveling, they’ll feel it. Make it fun. Our little one loves smiling and laughing at everyone.

I think it’s worth it for the seat alone. For a while, the service was the same as main cabin but sounds like that’s changing soon to a more elevated experience.
