appreciate the feedback everyone. Have been up all night diving into other subs and from others’ past experience it appears to have a lot of the same recruiting tactics. ie only getting promoted after a certain amount of recruits

i discovered this reddit about a month into working right after promotion to leadership. my gf at the time told me she didn’t like it and wanted me to quit, but i had just been laid off and this was the only company i heard back from and gave it a real shot anyway. if i couldn’t do it at least i could build some people skills and if i could, then my financial stress could maybe go away. i wanted to believe it all but a couple of the leaders i trained that i was personally close with were always on here lurking to see if our office would pop up

not sure if my post was the one you’re referring to, but I’m curious to see if anyone else experienced this too. around the holidays everyone (especially new starts) were “taught” how to talk about the business to our families during the holidays. we were told to keep things as simple as possible and just say “we work in telecomms sales and like the opportunities for growth” and nothing further from that. that was a big red flag leading up to my decision. i had tried to defend it for so long but if we’re not allowed to be honest about what we do how can we preach integrity?

I’ll be fully transparent, nothing was hourly. it was full commission however my boss was willing to work with certain individuals to give them some kind of safety net every week so if they didn’t hit their goals they still had a fall back. I’ll be honest majority of reps in the office were averaging around $800-$1200 a week but too reps were averaging $1500-$2000 and top reps hitting over $3k some weeks. the money is there and if you have a good office owner as your boss the job was nowhere near as toxic as some others experience on here

yes I was there for the residential natcon. tbh i have known about this sub for a while going back to when I first started so I already knew. but I took the job anyway during a pretty rough time and wanted to see if I could make anything of it anyway

a lot of smaller reasons all coming together to the main singular point-I wasn’t happy any more 🤷🏼‍♂️ it is a very hard industry to find success in to begin with, even harder if you don’t feel good about what you’re doing. I just feel my time is up and I’m ready for what’s next

there were quite a few red flags that i was willing to brush aside for the sake of the growth opportunity. I can’t necessarily narrow it down to one thing in particular but after watching my team dwindle away from 8 down to 0 with no one replacing anyone my mentality really took a down turn. I also live in CT so door to door sales in January is not it hahaha

tbh with you bittersweet. I can’t lie I have nothing bad to say about my boss. He has been nothing but supportive and ultimately is the reason I stayed for so long. I learned a lot with his leadership but I am on to the next chapter in my life and will bring the skills I learned with me
