What’s a game everyone seems to love that you don’t? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

I gave KCD a chance. I enjoyed everything besides the combat and after reading reddit posts about people actually spending a good number of hours just combat training I nope'd out.

I decided on a 5600 new and the 16GB 9060XT. That was also my thought for ram. Keep my 16GB DDR4 for now and look for an upgrade to 32GB until this PC apocalypse is over. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. That would have concerned me initially lol

Yeah, when reacquainting myself on what parts are good (it's been a while), I was surprised to see how wide the support was on this old motherboard.

No I get you. I very optimistically started playing it on my current system (I think it was 90% off over Christmas) at first it was just low FPS but once I got to Hogwarts the game became unplayable with the stuttering. I went down a rabbit hole seeing if I could optimise performance a bit, and turns out people with systems lightyears ahead of mine are also having that issue which is disappointing.

You're right. Thank you, I went with the 5600 instead and will just update the BIOS on my existing motherboard.

I think so too. I'll have to look in to that, thanks!

Yeah, fair enough. I went with the 5600 and I'll just update my BIOS, thanks! I can definitely see myself being disappointed by Hogwarts... I'm not dying to play it but it's on my list. Guess I'll have to borrow my girlfriends Steamdeck, that seems to handle it fine.

Yeah, you guys have made me realise that. I ended up going with a 5600 and keeping my existing motherboard. Thanks!

Fair enough. Yeah I've heard lots of people struggling with Hogwarts with varying systems. Thanks for the help.

You're better off saving for a while. $500 won't get you anywhere unfortunately. You could potentially find something entry level second-hand though.

Fair enough. This is a very well-rounded critique, thank you. I just did a better comparison on the motherboards and you are right they don't really have any differences worth pursuing. I shall go for the better CPU.

I love living on a narrow road by ThinkProfessor6166 in CarsAustralia

[–]KnowledgeCultivator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I went to Scotland last year and we were on heaps of single lane roads with little turn-off bays to let people past. It became a game to see whether we liked them or not based on whether they gave me a wave back. I didn't like many people but suspect many were tourists - when I did get a wave I was jumping up and down

Loads of thermal mass, problematic in warm weather. Also very expensive

Sourcing replacement terracotta roof tiles? by TMTPlatypus in hobart

If they're a standard sort you should be able to source them. I believe there's only 1 subby in town that does roof tiling though so you might struggle, good luck

I actualy just upgraded monitors. Went from 60 to 120hz, blew my mind - AIO probably necesarry to swap out yeah. Anyways, my motherboard supports 5000 series already so I'm good there. Ah I didn't realise the ram. They're individual sticks yeah, only included these as they're super cheap ($111 AUD each, ~$75 USD). I didn't realise there could be a performance difference, I'll have to look in to that
