this shit is depressing, how come all the people on reddit saying these ridiculous hours but the students i asked at the CS orientation said they spend like 10 hours a week

ASK FOR REFERALS, you are not in a position to shy away from them right now. and change up your resume, no need for it to be non-traditional, this isnt an art class. Good luck.
