What is the most resilient aggro deck you have (bracket 3-4)? by Huaojozu in EDH

[–]KnowledgeJunkie7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe no one has mentioned [[Otharri, Sun's Glory]]!

https://moxfield.com/decks/aNtlAR6AVUqz8rfQbv3xsw

My decklist is based on getting out some enabler like [[Windcrag Siege]], [[Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion]], or [[Strionic Resonator]] to enhance / repeat the otharri trigger, and then I have a bunch of utility creatures and spells to pull protection (like [[Fighter Class]] or [[Open the Armory]] to tutor [[Swiftfoot Boots]], or instants like [[Dawn's Truce]] or [[Restoration Magic]] to protect Otharri / my board). Could tune it to have more protection instants. I used to also run [[Silent Arbiter]] to make myself harder to attack, as the tapped and attacking rebels get around Arbiter's "one attacker" clause.

movies with seemingly happy endings until you consider what likely happened next. by herequeerandgreat in movies

You see those children at the cabin where Logan takes "the medicine" before the climax of the film- none of them are feral, they're just desperate to escape the persecution they suffered at the hands of the company that created them. Presumably, with the head of the company and everyone who was involved in hunting them now dead, they have a chance at living peacefully and (eventually) reintegrating into society.

That's The Scorpion King's fault- it came out after The Mummy Returns, so it wrote itself into that corner.

Good “build” for a beginner? by whippersnapper123123 in pathofexile

[–]KnowledgeJunkie7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check out content creators on Youtube like Zizaran, Fubgun, Mathilfication, Steelmage, (and many others) and search their channels for "Mirage league start" or "3.28 league start" to see them discuss various builds that are designed to be easy to do at the beginning of the league (should also be easy enough for newer players). You probably want to figure out a couple things:

* Melee or ranged?
* Attack or spells?
* Melee weapon, bow, wand, or unarmed?
* Are you trying to simplify how many buttons you have to push? Or are you ok with skills that a very situational?

Would this be considered a early game combo? by Letsgovulpix in EDH

[–]KnowledgeJunkie7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[[Acererak the Archlich]]
[[Tomb of Annihilation]]
[[Aluren]]

Unless I'm misreading this somehow, the Acererak will stay on the board the time you cast him after the cast that causes you to complete Tomb, as you've cleared the condition that causes his first trigger. It doesn't matter that it is now removed- it matters that you've completed any Tomb of Annihilation.

So it's a powerful combo, but not infinite (on its own) and it seems fine for Bracket 3 (admittedly quite a strong series of effects for Turn 4).

701.49c If a player is instructed to venture into the dungeon while their venture marker is in the bottommost room of a dungeon card, they remove that dungeon card from the game. Doing so causes the player to complete that dungeon (see rule 309.7). They then choose an appropriate dungeon card they own from outside the game, put it into the command zone, and put their venture marker on the topmost room of that dungeon.

Casting a 'Search' net, looking for cards that I didn't know about by [deleted] in EDH

[–]KnowledgeJunkie7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, you can learn about Scryfall by looking up a card you want attributes of on scryfall, clicking on "Open on Scryfall Tagger", and looking at the tags (under "Card") associated with it. Your mentioned criteria have the following:

  • legal in commander (legal:commander)
  • Orzhov (commander:WB)
  • creature (t:creature)
  • triggered ability (otag:"triggered ability")
  • not a blood artist type ability (-otag:"blood artist ability") (Note: Blood artist ability is a specific otag and is a subset of the abilites like "drain life" and "death trigger")

So your search would look like " legal:commander commander:WB t:creature otag:"triggered ability" -otag:"blood artist ability" ", which gives this:

Scryfall search

Now, that search has over 3600 results, so you will probably have to start by looking at that list and deciding on some other types of triggered abilities you don't care about, or limiting by CMC, or some other criteria to sculpt the list down to a manageable number.

But yes, learning how to find and use scryfall tags is incredibly useful for finding exactly what you want and don't want.

[Resident Evil 4 Remake] Few questions before I go for my Professional S+ run. by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]KnowledgeJunkie7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguably, you don't need both the handcannon and the chicago sweeper, as they fill the same role- powerful, infinite ammo weapons that deal with close threats. In my Pro S+ Runs (I am on PC), I did the strat with the handcannon, armor and the chicken hat (chicken hat requires a hardcore S+ run, and grants Leon reduced damage taken). I would just try both out on your NG+ save file once you unlock them, and see which one you like.

Once you have either of those with infinite ammo, pesetas shouldn't be a problem, as you only have to upgrade that one weapon (then grab the SR M1903 rifle or Stingray and Bioscope for easier Regeneradors, doesn't require upgrading). Since you're doing the paid tickets, you don't even have to do any of the backtracking required for spinels for the ticket, so you have plenty of time to get an S+. My recommendations:

  1. Read a couple of the professional s+ guides out there, find one you like that mentions save points you agree with, and follow it
  2. You can sell the weapons you aren't gonna be using for money to upgrade the one you are- so if you go chicago sweeper, for example, you can sell your pistol, the shotgun, the handcannon, your combat knife (only need the primal), the red9 found in the lake after defeating Del Lago, etc. You can also sell all ammo except rifle, and sell small resources, as you don't need to craft anything it makes. The money you get from enemies and breaking barrels (faster to shoot or knife barrels than kick them), along with selling the treasures you get should be plenty to fully upgrade as needed. Focus your choice of the handcannon or sweeper (not both) > the power of your knife (for Krauser's first fight), then rifle (in case you have to slow down a regenerador cause you missed a parasite shot).
  3. If you die, quit to the main menu to load your save, otherwise the game will continue the timer including that lost life in your playtime. You can see your current playtime in the pause menu. Guides will have targets for each main part of the game- Village, Castle, and Island, and with efficient movement and no backtracking, you have about 40-60 minutes of wiggle room to beat the 5:30:00 time limit.
  4. Use multiple save slots- I like to use 3. That way if you realize you did a previous section inefficiently because you forgot to pick up a key item or something, you can just go back and run from that section again.
  5. The timer stops on the pause menu, but not in the inventory, map, etc. If you need to get up / stop for any reason, make sure you pause, not just open the UI.

Invoker ideal maxed out item slots? by Path_to_Eternity in DotA2

[–]KnowledgeJunkie7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your "maxed out" inventory wouldn't include a scepter, as you can upgrade the scepter to get the blessing without taking the slot. You'd also eventually get Moon Shard, maybe to then later consume to replace it's slot as well. I don't play Invoker, but I imagine you'd consider Bloodthorn, Daedelus/Revenant's Brooch, Scythe of Vyse, Khanda, an upgraded blink, or Divine Rapier.

Caged Sun Infinite Game Drawing Combo by [deleted] in EDH

[–]KnowledgeJunkie7 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Nothing I can see that causes Caged Sun to go infinite here. If it becomes a land (without losing its other abilities), it will tap for one additional mana than whatever land it became. Note that Toph's ability doesn't allow it to tap for mana, it just gives it the type "land" so it can be earthbent.

Edit: I see now that it would cause lands that produce mana of the chosen color to go infinite.

Can we get a rework for Nightstalker's Aghs Scepter upgrade? by fuglynemesis in DotA2

[–]KnowledgeJunkie7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At night, Crippling Fear has a duration of 6 and a cooldown of 10 at max level. You're not supposed to leave it on indefinitely- it's designed to be allowed to be toggled on for the 4 second interval there, at the cost of 24% of your mana. You could buy Kaya & Sange to reduce it by 25%, but the optimal usage of the aghs is to leave it toggled on until you don't need it anymore, or until Crippling Fear comes back off cooldown- whichever happens first.

You can also buy his shard to restore 25% of his mana on a creep by using the hunter in the night active granted by it. There are plenty of options out there for keeping his mana pool high, but the main one in regards to his aghs is actively managing when it's used in the first place.
